章 163: Supervising Disciple

The last task was by far the riskiest.

Because Xuánjīng was originally a place where dragons and snakes intermingle, and due to an agreement made years ago between the various sects and the royal family of the Great Xuan Kingdom, Xuánjīng, as the capital of the country, was not under the jurisdiction of any sect. Furthermore, those above the Condensing Liquid phase were not allowed to step foot into the city.

To ensure this agreement was strictly enforced, each sect could only leave one surveillance disciple in Xuánjīng to mutually monitor whether other sects were in breach of the pact.

However, this also made Xuánjīng a paradise for independent cultivators and foreign practitioners. Even some evil cultivators and defectors would change their identities to enter Xuánjīng and form alliances to go undercover.
