I changed my mind. MC is a selfish retard who always puts him and ‘his benefactors’ above else. If you have read this garbage, then it's alright. However, let me state it here anyways. MC changed a girl's memory in her reincarnation just because his benefactor loved her corpse for thousands of years. And he didn't even ask her or her father, who as a matter of fact, were more important than that benefactor. Is this a joke? It's completely disturbing and disgusting. The little respect I had for MC fell to the bottom after reading this. What a complete garbage!!
Too much Plot Armour! MC has a personality disorder (He doesn't think of consequences before taking his decisions, As for my remark, you'll know once you've read it completely.) Waste of a romance...(Seriously? Why is there a romance in this novel? He is a ruthless heaven-defying cultivator, and in my opinion, his heart is just too soft...) Again, Why does he act like a just and honorable person after killing so many? Does killing not affect his personality? And duh, I'm not talking about just one hundred or thousands... Romance sucks, his personality sucks, his way of turning down other women, who actually loves him a lot, disgusts me to no end... Overall, Plot flow and Quick arcs are good.
the little bit of interest I had in this trash wang lin went down the drain after reading more than 300 chapters. I thought this was a better mc from reading various comments but was only met with disappointment. it was especially disappointing in that red butterfly arc. then again the more expectations you have the greater the disappointment will be sigh.....
just some young master losing face, wining face. woman beauties. slaopping more faces. therapy would be a game changer in Chinese culture
It legitimately is borderline peak web novel, with human characteristics, young masters have brains, MC grows and gets smarter at a proper rate and the weak to strong aspect is done perfectly. The plot/plot twists are great and the development is perfect.
what a road to go all the way to the end, had to go to WW to finish it 2088 chapters, a long way it was and worth it. it's not the best novel u can find but it was made with a lot of passion and feelings in it, i felt sad, angry, happy, sorrowful together as it passed, what a great story.
Honestly after reading this novel other CN's just seamed bland. Really loved this book, it had me laughing, crying and whole other emotions. It was really good to the point I had slight depression after I finished it. Highly Recommend to Tead this
Er Gen’s stories are written like he forgot the plot part way thru. With plot holes, retconning, or straight up inconsistencies. The world development is usually interesting. But the formula for his stories are pretty much all the same. Reading the stories in one sitting instead of waiting for chapter updates really brings up out the obvious issues with his style of writing.

Its so bad. No but really. First of all it is really slow. And even til chapter 110 he only has 1 skill. You hear me, 1 skill. Mc is really naive, ignoring his masters opinion etc. He has no guts, it’s like when people humilated him, he just smiles and ignore it. No grudge or anything. In other words a p**sy. He died and takes over a ugly person. Then joins a sect and learns alchemy. Yeah alchemy the most boring thing in every cultiavrion novel. I read this because some people said it’s good but don’t waste your time. They say read til chapter 200, because that’s when it’s gonna be good. You fr rn? Read 200 chapters with no plot, a mc with no guts, 1 skill, a ugly body, alchemy and slow pace.
I have read over 100 chapters, which maybe a-lot or maybe its not that much, but I can only say, "What a waste of time!". The writing is quite poor, the plot is not very rational many-a-times, and it feels very contrived, especially the tension and conflict. Very disappointed, of what I've read from Er Gen, this and ISSTH have similar problems, while his only novel I enjoyed is AWE and thats because of the early part of the story basically up until the end of the Night-crypt arc and Bai Xioachun as a main character. All of his novels have problems but AWE is much more lighthearted so I don't care as much, however this novel is not like that which only adds to make me feel even more annoyed. Basically reading this is an exercise in self-mutilation.
This is one novel that got me annoyed from the beginning. There's too much unnecessary killings, the MC is too cold, no friends, no excitement, nothing. What's worse, his cultivation seems to be too hard whereas others seems to be quite normal.
I only read this story because it is recommended by my friend. She said it's good. But for me, I don't exactly like it. I don't dislike it though. It's just that I've already read a lot of books with similar genre to this. That's why I don't find this to my liking anymore.

This book is really good but I can say it's also annoying and repetitive. The MC is always feeling melancholy and regret about the cultivation world. If you don't like it, why continue? Everything he does, he is feeling melancholy. I don't even know if he is a righteous cultivator or a demon cultivator. While the MC claims his Dao heart is really strong, it's actually fragile.

The light novel is great however the romance is absolutely horrible. Are you telling me any woman who stays with the mc for a few years and comes to like him will suddenly become the mc’s ‘dao heart’ and ‘taboo for any enemies to speak her name’????? Wtf is this I thought the mc is a ruthless mc not a softhearted guy who can’t bear to leave a woman just because she likes him and got Stockholm syndrome. The only reason she became the mc’s girlfriend is because it’ll be really pitiful if she doesn’t. The only thing she does for the mc is to make pills but still schemes against him. The mc is supposedly ruthless so why didn’t he just turn her into a puppet after all the times she tries to kill him and ends up ‘being more important than his own life’ since she comes to like him, why does he have a love life anyways if he’s so ruthless, he’ll just end up getting a burden. I like how his girlfriend has no unique qualities and has done barely anything for him. The author is absolutely horrible at creating romance, pretty much like his other light novels.
I love the character progression, that at times he may be incredibly OP but not all the time. It is to date my most favourite novel to read and even though I know most of it by heart now, I still love reading through the good times, bad times, twists and tricks. Although sometimes the MC seems to lack common sense and wants, and some characters just behave unexplainable or to extreme, it adds to the overall charm of the story.

This is one of the greatest stories I've ever read. The mc is realistic and the world building great. Author, please continue the story. A good story left halfway on a cliffhanger is really painful 😭😭
