概要
Meet Gu Yu—a college dropout and a talented incense maker, and at the same time, the rather stoic protagonist of this story. Despite his somewhat introverted manner, he has a tendency to make sarcastic remarks in his thoughts. One day, after saving a squirrel, a windfall (metaphorically and literally) dropped into his lap.Stumbling into the cultivation world with little help, he was not turned into Superman overnight (as he would like). Apparently, becoming a cultivator would not make your life easier, at least in the beginning.
Somewhere along the road, he ran into Jiang Xiaozhai, a young woman who’s got the brains, the beauty, and maybe one or two secrets of her own. As it turned out, the two made a perfect team—Mulder-and-Scully style. Motivated by many unanswered questions, they had been running up and down the country, getting into all kinds of trouble, and learning more of the modern cultivation world, which is by no means the same as in the ages long past…

レビューを書くchange the cover. that might be the reason why it doesnt get much votes for weeks. the cover gives a bad impression. the vibe gives impression that its not good a read.
Hi there, greetings from the translator. Thank you for those who have voted for this novel so far and I do hope you will get to read it soon (so pleeeease vote for us). The plot is witty and hilarious, and the author has an almost unrestrained imagination, not to mention the interesting idea of depicting the life of cultivators in a modern society. The story contains so many elements that I think everyone would be able to find something they like, be it Chinese mythology, the food, Taoist concepts, a glimpse of daily life in rural China, or a creepy twist that'll give you goosebumps. The synopsis has been updated and just in case it's not showing any time soon, here's the new version: Meet Gu Yu—a college dropout and a talented incense maker, and at the same time, the rather stoic protagonist of this story. I can't wait to get your opinions on the translation and discuss the novel with you all!
Translator should really write some new synopsis, the current synopsis is not doing you anything good. And I haven't even read any chapter, it just I slightly feel pity to this novel not getting much vote.
I'm sad for this novel. Because it never going to win the vote. 😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😮 😗😗😗😗😗😗😗😗😙😙😙😙😙😙 Thanks....................................................
I REALLY think that the reason for having so few votes its because the art of the cover, it gives the vibe of being too flowery, not eye catching enough? idk but with a longer synopsis and a better art cover it might RISE, I really hope so, I mean the translator and editor seems like they are very hard/working and it may be a shame for them to not be able to bring us this story that looks promising, I also think that they have put a LOT of effort on this project. This is my sincere opinion, I may be wrong though...
Actually guys... give this novel a chance , we all know that before , the synopsis is pretty short and it's not that convincing but at least now they tried to fix their mistake and made it better and more convincing , so let's just give them a chance to grow and vote for them , to tell you the truth actually , when the first time i read the synopsis ( before it got changed ) i wasn't interested and i know you guys aswell but then when the synopsis got changed i started voting for it sometimes , so lets just give them a chance okay? You wont lose anything for a few votes and you even got +5 spirit stones XD....
I got the feeling that this novel might be good because it reminds me of Leylin Farlier when i saw the word IMMORTALITY . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . And honestly though qidian boys , do i really need to put bunch of "Z" every time i comment since i can't comments if there isn't enough letters . Smh
I've read the raws (not up to the latest chapter) and so will only tell spoilers about what I've read so far. The world building is good so far, at least in China. Organisations and important/relevant locations are clearly explained about and you know what is happening and what has changed in different locations in the country. History of cultivation and what led to the current world is also told about clearly. Though the rest of the world hasn't been explored, it is hinted to do so in the future (western werewolves/vampires). Characters are not one dimensional and have different goals/ideals which are realistic. Lots of time is spent explaining stories about side characters and how they became as they are. The side characters are not stupid/arrogant, know when to back down and know when to act. For example, the leaders of the government want to gain Taoists and also suppress them so they don't betray them (current Taoists can't block bullets, missiles etc.) but also keep friendly relations with the more powerful cultivators like Gu Yu since he effortlessly destroyed their secret teams meant to deal with cultivators and even then it is only because he doesn't have a bloodthirsty/crazed personality (they said they would use everything that had to destroy him if that was the case). Some characters are forgotten (Zeng family) and some are reintroduced a hundred chapters later (a female who happened to find a cultivation manual) but the main heroine Jiang Xiaozhai is not forgotten and is not a weakling who always needs saving. She and Gu Yu are a couple and both are equally or near equally as powerful as the other. They are both overpowered as they are the first or one of the first people to cultivate and are at the very top in the power rankings so far (no one more powerful than them has been introduced unless you count those ancient cultivation remains). They are known as the 'Immortal Couple of Phoenix Mountain' (yes, they own it) and nobody dares mess with them. Currently it is not a harem but a girl they pick up on their travels (Long Qiu), likes Gu Yu but there has been no lover like contact between them as she is treated like a younger sister by the two of them. The reason for her liking him is because she was mistreated in her original village and he is the first man to not mistreat her. Bullsh*t reason, I know (why don't you fall in love with Jiang Xiaozhai as she is the first female to accept you). I checked the latest chapters to be sure (there is no change in their relationship). I really will drop this if he accepts her. The couple are perfect, it doesn't need to be ruined by a third wheel. This always happens in Chinese novels and always ruins them. There doesn't need to be another lover for Gu Yu, so stay as the younger sister. I won't say much about the story but basically, there used to be lots of spiritual essence on the Earth and cultivators were everywhere. However, it suddenly started to disappear until no one could cultivate (reach the first step of cultivation) anymore. Then when Gu Yu started to cultivate he discovered with Jiang Xiaozhai that spiritual essence was mysteriously recovering (they were the first to discover it). They then told the government through a trade and now everyone is trying to adapt and prepare for the change through gaining resources, people talented in cultivation, Taoists with cultivation heritages and making plans on how to notify the citizens of the country about the recovery of spiritual energy (government's problem). Spiritual essence recovery is global. Spirit stones have been introduced and it is said that it will become the main form of currency for cultivators. As for the cultivation system, Gu Yu is only at the beginning and for me, the terms are too hard to translate. Gu Yu has split the initial realm into 5 stages and I believe there are three realms higher than the initial realm (according to ancient cultivation records). Although it hasn't been mentioned yet (or i may have missed it), but I think he is at the 4th stage. Flying is possible at higher realms and true immortality does exist. Is this going to be taken down for too many spoilers? Hope this review answers some of your questions. I used MTL to read this novel so somethings I have understood and said in the review may be incorrect.

I think this novel is gonna be somewhat like : Cultivation Chatroom , And Dreadfull Radio Style of writting but without the horror ... ? and a bit of romance . Seems promising .
I feel sorry for this novel welll... how long they will get release still maybe good maybe no. I just wanna tell the translator to change the picture for the novel cover. Well the cover look so boring and uninteresting.
One of the best books I have read after reading RMJI and the Renegade Inmortal. Though it is indeed a slow paced novel, the reason for that is it is narrated in a very detailed manner. Mind you, the more narrated the novel, more is the foundation stable with less plot holes and we are also able to see the insight of the auhor. Don't be bothered by the cover pic cause the both MC's are 100 times better than that in appearance. Plus female MC is my no chance a lol. So, don't be afraid and read the novel !!! Cause it will he worth it :)
It's would be a good novel, if not for Mary Sue-like Main Heroine. Even right now, I can hardly think of a more hateful person than of her. It would be so much better, if just she died after first mention about her. I just f***** hate her. (I know it's all subjective and s***, but go to hell "writer".) P.S.It's really dumb practice to attribute the merits of translators to a novel. Most of the time, it not deserve it.
Good novel, been waiting for 3 thousand years worth of updates to binge-read, but it died unexpectedly. I'm sad now. Will wait for future updates, I hope someone raises this novel from the dead. I'll be waiting because I'm sick of MTLs.
Legit my favorite novel on this site, but the translator has just randomly disappeared with absolutely 0 communication or warning. Went from consistent daily updates to being dead for 2 months. I'd legit be giving this novel a full 5 stars otherwise.
Please Bring back this master piece!!!!!!! It's so good, the story gets so good! WHY YOU SO EVIL! Please Bring back this master piece!!!!!!! It's so good, the story gets so good! WHY YOU SO EVIL!
I've been waiting for months for atleast a single release and look what I got, its just depressing that one of my first and favorite novel actually died. The novel is good with one of the best plots or story I've ever seen, its a pity that the translator no longer releases chapters anymore as this was actually in my list of top 5 novels. All in all, I suggest you don't read this as it just makes you sad and annoyed (lol jk read it I recommend you do) the story is good and thats it, there are many more good aspects in this novel but Im too lazy. That's all.
Hello, Editor for this series here :3 First things first, there probably isn't going to be any additional summary any time soon, so I'm going to write a few words about the novel. First, let's discuss the score. TL Quality and Update Stability... duh, of course it's 5 ^^ Well, to be honest, having read barely a few dozen chapters, it's too hard to say whether it's going to be good or awesome but the fact that the author didn't screw up at the beginning and did rather well is already quite good. So, let me say a few worlds about the story. The premise is that we have an average (more or less) guy who gets (not right away at the beginning though) an opportunity to become a cultivator. As the story is written by a woman, our male protagonist doesn't really resemble the arrogant Xianxia MCs (at least not yet), and feels more real, though the contrast may be a bit too big. Also, there is at least one love interest who seems like she'll stay in the spotlight as someone equal to MC instead of being shelved such as most male authors do, but it's too early to say whether it will be harem, love ******** or single love interest novel yet (my guess is that it isn't going to be harem). Generally speaking, at least so far, the characters aren't 1-dimensional and the author does a good job dealing with some annoying tropes common in Xianxia, perhaps because she's female and isn't (as) contaminated by those garbage tropes. Also, some may think that having a female author may be a drawback, but I assure that it's a normal story for male (or any) audience. It's definitely different, both the story and the writing style, but it doesn't get in the way of reading at all. Perhaps the only drawback would be the info dumps, but they're rare (I can recall something like three, four chapters--not whole chapters, either--out of sixty) and so far never repeated. As for the plot itself, it's still to early to tell since the author didn't reveal much yet at the point when I'm reading, but looks promising. Not sure what else to write about so I'll keep it at this. Oh, I'll just mention that the pace of the story doesn't seem to be too fast, but neither is it very slow.
