Call him a twisted psycho for enjoying every horrified look on their faces over what his mother did. He didn't care,and as long as she's safe and nothing happened to her,he's fine.

He had all long been spying on his uncle and grandpa who had been talking to each other,he needed to know exactly who their suspect was,seeing as his dad wasn't with them again.

His dad might not be that calculative and suspicious as he was,but he knew who his grandpa was,starting from the moment the investigations were going on.

He noticed the look both father and son had on their faces while stealing glances at his dad which he didn't notice because he was all stressed up about this matter.
