Dave got drunk.

Before dinner even started, he was already drinking one can after another of beer from Lilian's fridge. Tiffany knew he was in a bad mood, so she didn't stop him.

As a result, the three of them didn't enjoy dinner. They were too busy taking care of Dave, who was very drunk.
