章 11: Chapter 11- self righteous

Dave stood there, enraged that she had dared to bite him so rudely, but at the same time, as he watched her leave without looking back, a tinge of panic stirred in his chest.

He had always believed that she couldn't live without him and their daughter. But after he had mentioned the possibility of fighting for custody, he had waited all day for her to soften, to say she wouldn't divorce him.

But this time, her determination made him feel an inexplicable unease.

Ignoring the pain in his hand, he took large strides and caught up to her, blocking her path at the door. His tall figure easily shut off any escape route.

"Let's talk!"

He furrowed his brow and looked at her.

Since proposing the divorce last night, and after his repeated ridicule and mockery, Laurent had no desire to speak with him. His arrogant stance, believing she couldn't go through with the divorce, made her not even want to look at him.

"Talk to my lawyer."
