21.56% Wizard: Starting as a Lord Marrying a Wife / Chapter 11: Chapter 11: The Two-Toned Twin Lotus

章 11: Chapter 11: The Two-Toned Twin Lotus

At dawn the next morning, David shared breakfast with his wives before heading to the back garden for his knightly training.

After completing his exercises, he returned to the castle. Instead of heading to the third-floor attic, he made his way to the study.

In the study, the Grey Wolf Knight awaited him, standing near a desk cluttered with parchment scrolls and books—administrative orders awaiting David's signature.

With winter fast approaching, refugees had begun trickling down from the icy northern regions of the Silver Moon Kingdom. This influx put the Frostwolf Ridge on high alert.

"Lord David," the knight began, "The Harvest Moon has passed, and all the grain has been safely stored in the granaries."

He handed over a stack of parchment, reporting on the estate's recent harvest.

Since the Icebear family had covertly severed Frostwolf Ridge's trade routes, the territory's primary resource of value was its high-quality wheat, cultivated with organic fertilizer.

For a domain facing the bitter northern winter, an ample food supply was crucial for survival.

"I have full confidence in Uncle Olay to handle the estate's affairs," David replied after signing the documents.

Setting aside his quill, he asked, "Any news of a wizard yet?"

"None," the Grey Wolf Knight said, shaking his head.

While there was already one witch in the castle—Amy—David had remained committed to finding wizards to strengthen his position against the northern nobles.

Despite his efforts, no leads had surfaced, not even in Lynx Town, where witches had reportedly been active before.

David nodded with a hint of frustration.

Though Amy was indeed a witch, her power stemmed from her natural talent—her innate Ice Element Gift. While she could wield ice with ease, her abilities differed significantly from traditional wizardry, which required an inherited legacy of spells and techniques.

"By the way," the Grey Wolf Knight interjected, "I've gathered information about a few particularly promising girls."

It was clear that he was eager to see his lord secure heirs.

David hesitated briefly before accepting a scroll of parchment. As he skimmed the details of the first two candidates, his expression shifted.

"Two-Toned Twin Lotus?" he murmured, intrigued.

The knight nodded, sensing his lord's interest. "Shall I bring them here for you to see?"

"Even if they don't meet your expectations, they could serve as maids within the castle," he added.

"Fine," David agreed readily.

He had been considering appointing a personal maid to assist Amy, and these two seemed well-suited for the role. Trained by slave merchants, they were more than capable of handling household duties.

After instructing the knight to bring the girls to the castle the following day, David dismissed him and left the study.

That evening, David went to the third-floor attic. He had already informed Leah earlier in the day that she would be moving in with him and Amy starting tonight. Leah had even begun moving some of her belongings into the room.

When David entered, he saw Leah and Amy tidying up the room together. Watching them work, he became even more convinced of the need to recruit trustworthy maids.

That night, David, Leah, and Amy began their cultivation session.

At first, Amy was visibly shy and hesitant, but with Leah's encouragement and participation, she gradually relaxed and found her rhythm.

[You have completed a session of dual cultivation. Frostwolf Bloodline +40.]

[Frostwolf Bloodline: Tier 3 (4852/5000)]

[You have completed a session of dual cultivation. Ice Element Gift +25.]

[Ice Element Gift: Basic (951/1000)]

David exhaled in satisfaction as he opened his virtual panel.

After over a month of effort, both his Frostwolf Bloodline and Ice Element Gift were nearing a breakthrough.

However, his physical stamina had reached its limit. He realized that further enhancing his stamina was crucial for maintaining a positive cycle of cultivation and increasing his efficiency.

The Next Day

Leah and Amy woke early to begin tidying up.

Since no one else dared to set foot on the third floor, the task of cleaning fell entirely to them.

Although neither Leah nor Amy voiced any complaints, David still felt it necessary to expedite the arrival of the new maids.

In the castle's main hall, two young women dressed in maid uniforms stood quietly side by side.

When David entered the hall, even he was momentarily stunned.

The two girls were nearly identical in appearance, with flawless, delicate features. The only difference was their hair—one had striking blue hair, while the other had vivid red locks.

Red and blue, David thought. The classic opposition of fire and water—manifested in this pair of sisters.

"Not bad," David said decisively. "Let them stay."

He felt there was something extraordinary about these two. Perhaps they carried a unique bloodline or hidden talent.

Hearing David's approval, the Grey Wolf Knight smiled. Over time, he had come to understand his lord's preferences in certain matters.

As the knight left, David turned his attention to the sisters.

"From now on, your names will be Fire Dance and Water Lotus," he said.

"Yes, my lord," the sisters replied in unison.

Though their tone was respectful, their eyes remained dull and lifeless—evidence of their rigorous training.

David frowned slightly, recognizing the challenges ahead. If not for their rarity as the Two-Toned Twin Lotus, he wouldn't have accepted them.

"I only require your absolute loyalty," he said firmly. "Beyond that, you may live as ordinary people."

His words, however, seemed to have little impact. The sisters remained expressionless.

"This might be a headache," David muttered.

Under such conditions, even if he were to cultivate with them, the results would likely be suboptimal.

For now, David set aside the thought of cultivation and decided to observe them further, hoping to uncover any hidden bloodline or talent.

Later, David brought the sisters to the third floor of the castle, where they would serve exclusively.

"Who are they?" Leah asked, her eyes scanning the twins with curiosity and a hint of suspicion.

"They will be responsible for your daily care," David explained.

Understanding his intent, Leah took a closer look at the two and appeared surprised to realize they were twins.

David formally introduced them: Fire Dance, the elder sister, would attend to Leah, while Water Lotus, the younger, would look after Amy.

With their roles assigned, the sisters began their duties.

It was immediately apparent that they were well-trained, their movements precise and met

iculous as they cleaned and organized the space.

Despite their lifeless expressions, their professionalism was undeniable.
