Busujima Saeko stood with her silver sword in hand, facing the terrified police, who were pointing their guns at her in panic, their voices breaking as they shouted.
"Who are you?!"
The police were already unnerved by the sudden appearance of so many dead bodies, and now faced with Busujima Saeko, glowing with inhuman power, their fear intensified.
Busujima Saeko held the 'Silver Sword' confidently, unfazed by the firearms pointed at her. She looked down at them and spoke.
"The world is ending, as you all know. So, why is it strange that gods have come to save the world?"
"I am Busujima Saeko, the 'original god' chosen by heaven, a candidate destined to ascend and become a god after saving this world."
"Now, I announce to everyone here that the God of Breeze and Hope has sent the 'Knights of Favonius' to Earth to save the world." She continued, her voice calm but filled with authority.
"From this moment on, all order has been taken over by the 'Knights of Favonius'."
As she spoke, the 'stigma' on the back of Busujima Saeko's hand began to emit a cyan light, transmitting information such as the 'origin of the dead body virus,' 'the Sky,' 'the Wind God,' 'the Teyvat universe,' and 'the Sky Island' into the minds of everyone still alive in the area, like a broadcaster.
"If you do not abide by the 'divine order,' then—"
Busujima Saeko lifted the 'Silver Sword' with both hands, and the 'Eye of God' hidden within her body released the maximum elemental power she could bear. Cyan light began to radiate from her body, concentrating on the 'Silver Sword.'
The police and survivors, still absorbing the new information, watched in awe as they saw something akin to a scene from a fairy tale.
Everyone was in shock.
"Hah—!"
Busujima Saeko swung the sword towards the river below the bridge.
Rumble, rumble...
The cyan light exploded forth, striking the river like Excalibur. Instantly, the water flow of the entire river parted in two, the riverbanks lifting into massive waves crashing onto the exposed riverbed on either side.
The roaring sound echoed as everyone stared in stunned silence, their eyes wide and speechless.
Busujima Saeko slowly sheathed the 'Silver Sword.' The main river had been drained by her strike, exposing the riverbed. After a few seconds, the water on either side surged back, flooding the river once more.
Splashes of water turned into a light rain that fell on everyone present, a reminder of what had just transpired.
The police officer's gun fell to the ground.
"God..."
"She is a god!"
"The gods have come to save us!"
"God!"
The people and police who had received the truth about the 'virus' were 'convinced' in just a few seconds.
Nothing is better at maintaining order during an apocalypse than overwhelming power.
"Please help me! I was bitten!"
"Help! They've turned into dead bodies!"
Though Busujima Saeko's display of power had restored some order, chaos soon returned as infected people continued to transform into dead bodies. Among the crowd, there were also those who had followed the noise to this place, including the infected and even corpses.
"God, please, my child is still alive!"
Busujima Saeko's figure disappeared instantly, reappearing mid-air.
"Draw your sword! Strike!"
People could only see a dazzling light blooming above them, followed by crescent-shaped sword lights cutting through the crowd.
Buzz, buzz...
In the midst of extreme fear, the sword light severed the heads of every dead body, while also taking out those who were intentionally causing chaos.
Before people could react, Busujima Saeko landed on the ground, releasing a surge of 'elemental power.' It spread to the kind-hearted individuals who had been bitten.
"Everyone, do not panic. These lights will cure those infected with the virus who haven't yet fully transformed into corpses."
"As long as the transformation isn't complete, they can be saved."
After all, the 'dead body virus' was just a low-level virus, while 'elemental power' was a high-level energy from the Teyvat universe that could dispel it. Even those 'trainee knights' who had obtained the 'Wind God's Blessing' could perform this healing.
Being able to cure infections meant that Busujima Saeko became an angel in the eyes of these survivors in the apocalypse. Such a move naturally made everyone there into her loyal supporters. After all, as long as someone is human, they fear death.
"Thank the gods! Thank the gods!" people cried, overwhelmed with emotion.
"I'm alive, I'm not going to die! I'm alive!"
"God!"
Those who had been bitten cried with relief, and even those who hadn't were like fanatics, kneeling and bowing in reverence.
A reporter, who had been live broadcasting the events, came to his senses and reported with a trembling voice, "God has truly come to save us!"
"This is a report from West Bed City! A god has appeared, a real god has appeared!"
"The gods have revealed the origins of the virus."
"I need to get this news to everyone."
"The virus was leaked from a biochemical experiment conducted by the United States and the high-level officials of this country. This is a conspiracy—a conspiracy to exterminate humanity!"
Television and radios across the globe, still broadcasting, transmitted these words alongside the live footage. Survivors all over the world, their fear now turning into anger, began cursing and condemning the culprits.
At the same time, information about gods, original gods, and gods in training spread as well.
Most importantly, people learned that the power of the gods could cure the infected.
The 'trainee knights,' who were originally fighting dead bodies to save good people in West Bed City, suddenly found themselves the focus of widespread adoration.
There was no need for the 'trainee knights' to explain anything. The survivors began calling for their help and trusting them without question.
After all, the 'Knights of Favonius' had the power of the gods, and they could cure those who were infected.
Moreover, the existence of a god was the biggest assurance for humanity's survival—except for the wicked.
The survivors in West Bed City naturally regarded the 'trainee knights' as their pillars of hope and the lifeline they desperately needed.
Meanwhile...
Saya Takagi had found her mother, Yuriko Takagi, though sadly, her father, Soichiro Takagi—president of the largest right-wing group in the region, "Concerned for the Country Isshinkai," and a national legislator—had been bitten by a servant who had turned into a dead body in his office. Yuriko Takagi could only kill her husband, who had become a dead body, while tears streamed down her face.
The Takagi family mansion had been overrun after some of the servants became infected, and they had to abandon it. Saya, her mother, and a pair of 'trainee knights' moved into the city to save others and kill the infected.
On Sky Island...
Takumi raised his hand, and a projection of Earth appeared in front of him.
"This is convenient. With a world of Internet satellites, just one broadcast can spread influence across the entire globe, gaining eighty percent of humanity's belief."
He smiled. "Busujima Saeko... you've done well. I'll have to reward you later."
"In fact, we're already ready to annex this world."
