章 64: Players waiting outside

Bloody Edge and Radiant Shield carefully opened their eyes.

"That's it?"

"Did something change?"

The two friends looked at each other strangely. Suddenly they remembered the games option to hide and show their wings.

Two pairs of pristine white wings appeared at the same time, emitting a holy aura. At the same time notifications rushed before their eyes.

Liam glanced at the two men dealing with the changes. However, in his opinion, now wasn't the time to think too deeply about it.

Soon, they would reach level ten, allowing them to get their first class specialization, which would reshuffle all their attributes.

Thus, Liam addressed the party:

"Guys, how about we leave the dungeon first? Let's get to level 10 first!"

Bloody Edge and Radiant Shield looked somewhat reluctant but complied.

"If our expert says so."

"Alright, let's go."

"Hey, were did…"

Suddenly Bloody Edge realized that Phanret had mysteriously vanished at some point.

"Don't worry about him. Maybe you will see him again in the future."

"Sure."

No one in the party looked particularly concerned about the holy nephilim.

A small option had been in the corner of everyone's view since defeating Reylar, allowing them to leave the dungeon without having to walk all the way back.

Accepting it, they found themselves back in Reylar's temple.

A few players lingered around. Noticing the party appearing they suddenly jumped up and scurried outside.

Liam watched their actions with a frown while the party approached two holy nephilim soldiers, the only ones still present.

Silver Blade walked at the front. But even her high charisma stat was unimportant to the soldiers compared to the fact that two holy nephilim were now among the party.

The soldiers showed bright smiles, ignoring everyone as they approached Radiant Shield and Bloody Edge:

"Haha, you must be the new brothers! A wise decision! Congratulations!"

"Such valiant heroes! Righteous hearts! I know you will make it far! By killing that traitor Reylar you have done a great deed!"

"Here this is your rightful reward!"

Radiant Shield and Bloody Edge were taken aback by the enthusiasm, automatically grabbing the items stuffed into their hands.

Fortunately, the game was kind enough to distribute the rewards fairly among the party. But before they had time to check those out, a commotion could be heard outside.

"Are you sure it's that party?"

"How would you know?"

"Come out! Come out! Come out!"

Loud chanting echoed in the temple, causing the old walls to vibrate and dust to fall off.

Silver Blade frowned.

"What's going on?"

"Are they having a party out there?"

"Celebrating our victorious return?"

"I guess someone is trying to make trouble for us.", said Liam with an unhappy expression.

Discussing amongst each other the party slowly stepped outside, stopping on the temple's stairs.

Their faces were either frowning or confused as they found a couple hundred players gathered below the temple.

When the party appeared, the scene fell silent. Some players looked up with worship while others showed unfriendly faces.

Liam squinted his eyes, finding two familiar faces at the front of the crowd. Fat Tiger and Glorious Sunshine.

A person whispered something into Fat Tiger's ears before the chubby man shouted for everyone to hear:

"YOU! You still dare to swagger around after offending our Beast Den Guild?!"

Immediately a murmur went through the crowd. A subtle separation could be seen, revealing the players who were only here for the fun and were suddenly caught up in a confrontation.

"What is a Beast Den Guild?", asked Cyclone puzzledly.

"Don't play stupid! You tricked the masses to confront our people! This is abuse!

Now the masses are here to take revenge!"

"Well, I'm not…"

"Wasn't it said that…"

A few insecure voice came form the crowd but feeling the fierce glares of some people around them, they shut up.

Liam watched the play, rolling his eyes in boredom.

"Just state your mind. What do you want?"

"Naturally, I want judgem…"

"Brother Tiger…", interrupted Glorious Sunshine suddenly. "Why talk so much? Tell us how you beat the dungeon! Or we will make sure to kick you out of the game!"

"How do they know we cleared the dungeon?", asked Balm quietly.

"Because the priest in front of the temple left. It's no hard evidence but enough to stir some trouble."

"Oh…"

"What are you whispering up there?! Have you pissed your pants?"

"You want to know our secret? Sure! Here it is!"

Liam grinned brightly as he held up Fiery Tacaria for everyone to see.

"I am an honest businessman. This miraculous herb cures burn! Essential in clearing the dungeon! If you want it, I will naturally sell.

How about 10 silver per stalk?"

Below the temple Fat Tiger and Glorious Sunshine didn't know what to say.

No one knew if Liam's word could be trusted.

"Not believing? Catch!"

Liam spoke with a grin as he threw the herb out, perfectly aiming between his two opponents. Fat Tiger and Glorious Sunshine looked at each other wearily. Suddenly the chubby man made a large step, pushing Sunshine away.

"Hey!"

"Hm? Said something?"

"You…!"

Liam grinned as his plan worked. Obviously there was no deep friendship between the two men.

As Fat Tiger checked the red herb in his hand, a greedy glint was apparent in his eyes.

He focused his gaze on Liam, his thoughts churning. Eventually he couldn't hold himself back anymore, dropping all pretense.

"Alright. Give us all the herbs you have, and we can let you go!"

Liam scoffed:

"Seems your cunning ends where your greed begins."

"Seems you don't know what's good for you…"

"Brother Tiger, let's stop talking. We came to take revenge and loot today! Let's attack!"

"You are right! Let's go!"

Suddenly Fat Tiger waved his hand above his head.

"Ranged fighters! Attack!"

"Wh… what?"

"How did it come to this?!"

"Mirage, what should we do now?"

Liam's party was shaking, staring at the attacks flying towards them like a swarm of birds.

But the veteran smiled confidently:

"What should we do? Distribute our attribute points and show them what it means to fight at a level difference!

Not even level 10… fools!"

Liam straightened his back, walking down the stairs as if he couldn't see the incoming attacks.

At the same time the players who only came to join the fun were confused.

"Is this really the team which achieved first clear?"

"Are they in trouble?"

"Shouldn't we help? Those are heroes of our server!"

Slowly a fire ignited in the crowd.

"Right! Right! Let's help them!"

"Help the heroes!"

"Go, go!"

"For my goddess Fortune!"

"Bro… your priorities are off…"

Suddenly the mages who just fired their spells were faced with attacks from multiple sides.

"What are you guys doing?"

"Hey! How dare you offend our Beast Den?!"

"Morning Glow won't let you off!"

Fat Tiger was startled by the voices coming from behind him. He turned around, trying to make sense of the commotion.

"Hey! HEY! What's going on? Report!"

Meanwhile Glorious Sunshine stared at the stairs. He gulped heavily.

"B… brother Tiger?"

"What is it?!"

"Th… there"

"What? Speak clearly!"

Fat Tiger glared angrily at his incompetent business partner before turning his attention back to the front.

But his face instantly froze in shock as he found Liam standing right before him.

"Mirage? How? Shouldn't you be dead?!"

"I can only say that you don't know the game well enough."

Liam smirked as he unhesitatingly swung his sword.

[-387!]

"What? I'm a tank!"

Fat Tiger was too scared to even defend. But Liam showed no mercy, following right up with a [Double Slash].

Fat Tiger dropped to the ground, the face of his corpse still painted in disbelief.

Next to him Glorious Shunshine surprisingly reacted swiftly:

"You, you, and you! Stop him! Hold him off!"

Shouting out orders the warrior immediately fell back into the crowd, using other to shield his escape.

"Wow! So cool, Mirage!", cheered Cyclone happily. The veteran's performance reassured the party, proving to them that the level gap was like an insurmountable chasm.

Thus, they also began to attack the guild players, eager to show off their power.

Spells and attacks were exchanged but only one side fell. After one boss died and the other escaped, the guild players fought chaotically.

Together with the random players added into the mix, the guild players were soon grinded down from two sides, seeing no hope.

They began to escape or even surrender, inwardly cursing their bosses for forcing them into such a situation.

Soon, Liam's alleys were the only ones still standing. They cheered happily, celebrating the party which achieved the first dungeon clear.

A few players wanted to ask for pictures first, but seeing the large amount of loot dropped by the dead players, everything else lost priority.

Even Liam's party gathered a lot of it, as the veteran planned to turn it into money soon.

After the clean up they could finally hold a small-scale celebration. It went on for a few minutes, with a disproportionate number of players gathered around Fortune, until it was finally time for the party to log off.
