章 10: 10 Explore and aspire

"I'm not quite sure myself, I just constructed the image of the water and the cleaning in my mind first and then recited the spell the right way and it came to this." Michael was also a little startled, such a scene was indeed completely unexpected.

In his mind, he thought, it seems clear that the matter of being a wizard will not be able to solve the previous trouble for the time being, he will have to think of another way before he can do it, such an uncontrolled magic spell will only bring danger!

This time Hagrid, however, answered Harry's doubts, only to see Hagrid scratching his tousled hair, slightly bending down, so that his line of sight was level with Harry and Michael.

"The magical potential that wizards are born with varies, and it is only with a wand and with intensive study that we can ensure that spells do not trigger such great consequences." After saying that, Hagrid straightened up and crossed his arms, looking at the two little ones with a serious expression.

"You two mischievous guys, come with me to apologize to everyone!" Then he pulled up the two of them and went to apologize to the people who were troubled by this matter one by one.

Once the people were told that it was the young wizard who was not enrolled at Hogwarts and the boy in great distress - Harry Potter - who had caused the problem, they were graciously forgiven; after all, the young wizard was known to be naughty.

The apologies over, Harry and Michael looked at each other and were helplessly wiped down by Hagrid's enormous handkerchief with such force that both of their cheeks were reddened.

Entering the Li'l Trace Bookstore, the place was filled with shelves stacked to the ceiling with a wide variety of books.

For Michael, this might be a familiar haven. After all, for someone who had spent 17 years of his life reading and listening to music, having so many new books to read was a great blessing.

Harry excitedly weaved his way through the shelves, picking up a copy of Spells and Cracking Spells by Prof. Wendyk, his eyes glowing with anticipation as he handed it to Michael inquiring, "Michael, would you like a copy? This book should teach me to cast magic spells on Dali!"

Michael took the books, flipped through a few pages, and said, "Thanks, Harry, it really is the book I need. After all, as a beginner, I should go more deeply into the principles between the use and breaking of magic spells."

Curious, Harry asked, "Michael, do you think I could learn the spells in the book?"

Michael smiled and replied, "Harry, I'm sure it's possible! But we need to understand the basic rules first, and we can't just try complicated spells or they might have unintended consequences, like they did before."

Harry nodded, then turned to Hagrid, "Hagrid, do you think I could buy this book? I want to learn more about magic."

Hagrid looked at the book in Harry's hand, he had heard what Harry had said earlier and hesitated, "Harry, I know you have a good idea, but you can't use magic spells in the muggle world unless it's extremely special."

Harry's shoulders slumped and the smile on his face disappeared instantly. He asked softly, "And when can I use these spells?"

Hagrid gently stroked Harry's head and patiently explained, "Harry, you'll soon learn these in school. But until then, you need to know some basics, like this." He pointed to Theory of Magic on the bookshelf.

"But you really can't use those spells right now, you still have a lot to learn to get to that level. And some of the contents of this book in your hand may be too complicated, and if you use them accidentally, you may bring danger to yourself or others."

Harry listened to Hagrid's words and nodded in understanding at first, but then a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes.

"I know, Hagrid," Harry said softly, "I do have a lot to learn. But I'll do my best to be a great wizard." His tone was firm, and hope was renewed in his eyes.

Embarrassed, Hagrid ran that big hand over his head, then set Harry down and said, "Harry, you will certainly be a great wizard in the future, just like your parents!"

Michael pleaded with Hagrid for Harry, "Hagrid, the Goblin of the Ancient Spirit Pavilion told me a saying, 'Excessive intelligence is the greatest wealth of mankind', if when Harry is willing to learn, your first thought is to worry that he will use magical spells to do evil, then you have wronged him too much, you should first give him a learning opportunity to learn, after all, learning knowledge itself is harmless."

Hagrid's face flashed with a hint of hesitation when he heard Michael's words, in the end he sighed and scratched his unkempt hair, a hint of helplessness passed through his eyes.

"Harry, you have to realize that I'm worried that you might misuse magic and hurt yourself or someone else. But Michael is right, knowledge in itself is harmless and even very important. I should trust you to make the right choices."

Hagrid's tone became gentle, "I'm sorry Harry, I should have trusted you. However, you must promise me that no matter what you learn, you will not use magic in front of Muggles unless it is a dire emergency."

Harry nodded solemnly, "I promise you, Hagrid. I'll be careful."

Hagrid then stopped talking and walked over to the couch in the store and sat down, he really needed a little rest, the whole day had left feeling exhausted.

Michael's eyes then stuck to the books as if they were attracted by a magnet.

He moved quickly between the shelves, his fingers gently turning the pages, his eyes scanning each line of text like a scanner, his brain rapidly storing what he saw like a speeding computer.

His heart beat faster, excited by the prospect of accessing so much valuable knowledge and nervous about memorizing as much as he could in the limited time he had.

His eyes blazed with concentration, sometimes frowning slightly as he contemplated complex magical theories, sometimes nodding gently to comprehend key points of knowledge, as if he wanted to etch every word into his mind.

His movements were light and agile, trying not to attract the attention of other people, silently carrying out this knowledge "stealing" journey of his own.

After Michael had hungrily immersed himself in the sea of knowledge for a long time, Hagrid finally came back to his senses from the long wait, and raised his hand to look at the slightly outdated pocket watch, with a slight frown on his face.

"Little ones, time waits for no one! We need to pick up the pace, and we need to pick out the books we're going to use for school quickly." Hagrid's booming voice rang out in the bookstore, instantly pulling Michael back from the world of knowledge.

Only to see Hagrid skillfully cross-referencing the shopping list and weaving between the rows of towering bookshelves, his huge body looked a bit constricted in the narrow aisles, but his eyes were incomparably focused.

Michael and Harry hurried after him as well, their eyes constantly scanning the books on the shelves.

Whenever he found a book on the list, Hagrid carefully removed it and handed it to the children.

They gently flipped through the pages, checking to see if the book was in good condition, or exchanged opinions about a particular book in hushed tones.

In no time at all, they had picked out all the books for school according to the list.
