Sanchi hesitated for a moment but eventually moved aside in front of Fite. As he walked away, he called out, "If you can't handle it, I'll step in at any time."
"Heh, don't worry, if I can't deal with this kind of trash, I'd be too embarrassed to stay on a pirate ship," Fite said with a soft laugh, completely unconcerned.
"gah gah gah, kid talk big, let's see me smash you" The Meatball Beimei let out a strange laugh, and in an instant, its figure appeared right in front of Fite.
Fite felt a tremendous pressure bearing down on him, with his long hair swept backward by the force of the impact caused by Beimei.
However, even though the approaching meatball cannonball was overwhelming in its force, Fite had no intention of dodging this attack. After all, he had seen with his own eyes that this creature could directly sink a pirate ship. If he moved aside, the Kado ship would definitely suffer severe damage, and the billions in treasure aboard could end up sinking into the sea.
Fite stretched out both hands, aiming to catch the meatball Beimei with his bare hands.
"Boom..."
"Crack..."
After a massive crash, a series of splintering sounds followed, as wood began to break apart.
Fite's feet were firmly planted on the deck, but the immense impact of the meatball Beimei's assault forced him to keep sliding backward. His legs carved two deep trenches into the deck, and wooden debris flew out in all directions. The Kado rocked violently, and in the ship's kitchen, the assistant chef stood by the window, staring in shock at the astonishing scene. His mouth hung open in disbelief—such power was absolutely not something human.
"Is that all?" Once the impact was nearly over, Fite raised his head and flashed a bright smile at Beimei. "You dare to damage our ship like this? I will never forgive you!" With that, Fite let out a loud roar, pulled his right leg out from the deck, which was already covered in bloodstains, and slammed it heavily onto the ball of flesh that Beimei had curled into.
Like a powerful soccer shot, Beimei, resembling a giant ball of flesh, was struck by Fite and sent flying, landing in the nearby sea.
After just a short while, Beimei, who had fallen into the sea, resurfaced. His face was filled with malice as he glared at Fite on the distant Kado ship and sneered, "Not bad, kid. You were able to catch my human cannonball attack. Now, let me show you the real power of my human cannonball. Let's see if you can still catch it!"
Beimei jumped onto the broken planks floating on the surface of the sea, his figure flashing repeatedly as he bounced from one piece of debris to another. With each jump, the planks that provided him with propulsion cracked and shattered under the immense pressure. As Beimei continued to leap, the number of jumps increased, and the speed of his human cannonball attack grew faster and faster. Slowly, only a blur remained in the air, his speed becoming too fast to follow with the eye.
Fite knew that Beimei was using the force of the rebounds to increase the impact of his human cannonball. The previous regular attack had nearly left him severely injured, his clothes torn and shredded by the shockwave, and his legs covered in blood. This time, the power of the human cannonball had at least increased several times. With his current strength, Fite knew he wouldn't be able to withstand the attack. However, if he didn't stop it, the Kaido ship would certainly be damaged, and the billions of Berrys on board would sink to the bottom of the sea.
Although Fite knew the situation was somewhat critical, he had no intention of asking Sanchi for help. Instead, he drew the strange fishing rod that had been strapped to his back and unraveled the thumb-thick fishing line that was coiled around it.
"I'm the sharpshooter of the Night Owl Pirate Crew, but it seems like no one has ever seen my sniping skills!" Fite yelled loudly, his arm muscles bulging as he bent the thick fishing rod into a bow shape. With his other hand, he quickly tied one end of the fishing line to the end of the curved rod.
"Today, I'll let you experience the power of this giant bow made from the branch of an Adam tree!"
Fite held the massive bow in one hand, while with the other, he pulled a thick wooden beam from the ship's deck. He nocked an arrow and aimed the wood at the flying human cannonball in mid-air.
Sanchi stood there, dumbfounded. He had thought the strange rod Fite had been carrying was just a fishing rod, but who would have thought it was actually a massive bow.
Normally, due to the lack of suitable arrows, Fite would take the bowstring off and carry the giant bow on his back. But today, in order to win this battle, he had pulled a piece of wood from the ship's hull to use as an arrow, making this his first time using the giant bow in combat.
This giant bow, made from the branches of the Adam's Treasure Tree, had a loud and proud name: the "Aslandi Giant Bow." Fifty years ago, it had been the weapon of the great pirate "Giant Bowman" Aslandi. It was renowned alongside the Legendary 21 Great Grade Blades as one of the most coveted crossbows, a weapon that archers dreamed of possessing.
Time passed, and Beimei's speed grew faster and faster. Gradually, aside from the sound of air being torn, it became nearly impossible to track the shadow of the human cannonball.
Fite, holding the giant bow, narrowed his eyes. Now, he could only rely on the sound of the air being torn and the splintering wood from Beimei's powerful leaps to judge the cannonball's position.
A cold sweat began to form on Sanchi's forehead. Even he wasn't confident he could catch the now significantly more powerful human cannonball.
He couldn't understand why Fite was willing to risk everything to protect the ship. Was it simply because of the captain's orders, or was it because of the treasure worth billions of berries on board?
There was no trace of tension on Fite's face. In his mind, all that remained were the increasingly rapid beats of his own heart and the growing sound of air being torn as the human cannonball sped toward him.
With a sharp and slightly elongated whoosh, Fite's eyes suddenly opened wide. He pulled the giant bow to its maximum tension, and the bowstring had already formed a half-circle.
"On the left!"
In an instant, Fite pinpointed the location of the human cannonball, and a sharp light gleamed in his eyes.
"Die!"
Fite's face turned red, and the power gathered in the giant bow. Then, with a sudden release, the wooden shaft flew out, shooting through the air like lightning. A sound like the tearing of space reached Fite's ears. He collapsed heavily onto the ground. Whether he could win this battle depended entirely on this arrow.
"How is that possible!"
A scream from Beimei echoed through the air, followed by a massive crash. Sitting on the ground, Fite's lips curled into a faint smile, and he collapsed onto the shattered deck.
"How did this guy track the trajectory of the human cannonball?!" Sanchi's mouth hung open, almost biting down on the iron pot in his hand, his shock lingering for a long time.
In mid-air, the thick wooden tip pressed against Beimei's abdomen. His facial muscles contorted, and his limbs flailed wildly as he tried to grab onto something for leverage. But he grasped nothing, only the wooden shaft pushing him farther away.
A series of agonized screams grew fainter and fainter as Beimei gradually disappeared over the horizon, where the setting sun dipped below the sky.
Just as Beimei was sent flying, Kado, standing on a small dinghy, gave a thumbs-up in the direction of the Kado ship. "As expected of the crew I chose!"
Many of the pirates who were fighting also noticed Beimei soaring through the sky.
"This is your crew? To think they were defeated by some nameless brat. Pirates of the Grand Line aren't all that impressive after all," the short, stocky Snow Bear said, having somehow appeared on the deck of the Green Hat Pirates' ship. He teased Bellal in front of him.
"Hmph, this kind of trash should have died a long time ago." Bellal's face darkened as he glanced at Beimei flying off into the distance, then turned his gaze back to the Snow Bear in front of him. It was as if he had discarded a piece of trash, showing no real concern or impact from the situation.
On another pirate ship, Bein glanced at the miserable Beimei and sneered, "It seems my kind reminder didn't get through to this guy. But to be defeated in such a short time... what a disgrace."
"During battle, you need to stay focused. Didn't anyone teach you that?" said the Mantis Hand Hessel, who was engaged in combat with Bein. He wielded two large swords, crossing them as he swung them toward Bein.
The many pirates engaged in battle didn't notice that a small, inconspicuous dinghy was quietly approaching the Green Hat Pirate Ship.
