Neither the police nor Spider-Man had any clue how the Lizardman, who had leapt from Oscorp Tower, disappeared so suddenly.
Anton, however, knew exactly where he went—the sewer.
Despite just transforming into the Lizardman, Connors' instinctive desire for the sewers was unparalleled, even compared to a rat's.
Surrounded by heavy firepower and threatened by Spider-Man, his only option was to dive underground.
Swoosh!
Once in the sewers, Anton swiftly followed the trail left by Connors. With each step through the filthy water, he closed in on his prey.
Ahead
Connors ran wildly, adrenaline coursing through his veins.
After entering the sewers, his rage subsided slightly, but his excitement and euphoria remained.
He had finally cured his disability! His regenerated right arm was stronger than ever, and his entire body had undergone extraordinary evolution.
Overwhelmed with confidence, Connors remained oblivious to the dangerous hunter closing in on him.
Back at Oscorp Tower
After a brief hesitation, Spider-Man followed suit, heading back inside the building. He was determined to craft an antidote using Oscorp's resources to return Connors to normal as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, Eddie and Phil arrived at the scene and managed to corner NYPD Commissioner George Stacy for an interview.
"Commissioner Stacy, can you comment on the situation with the Lizardman?"
Eddie, leveraging his superior physique, elbowed through the throng of reporters to stick his microphone in front of Stacy.
Stacy glanced at the mass of reporters crowding him, sighed, and resigned himself to the inevitable—another PR disaster for the NYPD was about to go viral.
Under the Manhattan Bridge
Connors kicked open a sewer exit and emerged beneath the bridge, where the shimmering Hudson River reflected the lights above. He let out a triumphant roar, relishing his newfound form.
Though he was no longer human, he felt immense pride in his Lizardman identity.
Boom!
Suddenly, a rocket roared toward him, trailing fire.
Connors spun around and saw a familiar figure—a humanoid mech with two long ears, unmistakably Batman.
Before Connors could react, the rocket struck him head-on.
His massive body was hurled into the air, his skin charred and smoking from the blast, before plunging into the Hudson River with a resounding splash.
Anton, clad in his "Rabbit Armor," stepped to the riverbank. Through his thermal sensors, he tracked the agitated figure beneath the water.
Though severely injured, Connors was far from defeated. His lizard genes, combined with the cocktail of experimental DNA in his body, granted him unparalleled regenerative abilities. As long as he didn't die instantly, he could recover quickly.
Blub, blub!
The river calmed as Connors sank below the surface.
Anton, his expression hidden beneath his mask, remained eerily composed.
Splash!
A massive figure, its tail whipping behind it, burst from the water—a heavily scarred Connors. He roared and lunged at Anton, his enormous body hurtling like a meteor.
Anton had anticipated this.
With a powerful leap, the Rabbit Armor dodged Connors' attack, landing atop the Lizardman's back. Without hesitation, Anton slammed his fists into Connors' skull.
"Get off me!"
Connors roared in pain, thrashing violently to throw Anton off. The two engaged in a brutal melee.
Though Connors' punches carried the weight of several tons, Anton held his ground. The Rabbit Armor groaned under the strain but endured, just as it had during his confrontation with Kingpin.
Despite Connors' immense strength, his combat skills were no match for Anton's mastery of martial arts.
Smash! Smash!
Anton dodged Connors' wild strikes and countered with precise, devastating blows. Each punch drove the Lizardman closer to the brink.
Finally, Anton unleashed the shoulder-mounted rockets on his armor. Connors, sensing danger, dove back into the river.
Boom!
The missile exploded, sending a column of water skyward.
Emerging unscathed, Connors climbed a bridge pier, scaling it with alarming speed to reach the Manhattan Bridge.
This presented a new challenge. Connors' regenerative ability made him difficult to incapacitate, and he now seemed intent on using the bridge's heavy traffic to his advantage.
"Trying to use civilians against me?"
Anton's voice was cold as he fired his grappling hook. Swinging through the air like Spider-Man, he landed squarely in front of Connors on the bridge.
Wham!
Anton delivered a flying kick that sent the Lizardman crashing into a bus. The vehicle crumpled under his weight, but fortunately, the driver had already fled.
Panicked screams echoed as bystanders abandoned their vehicles to escape.
"Batman!"
Standing atop a car, the Lizardman roared in fury.
Anton responded with an iron fist.
Bam!
The punch landed squarely on Connors' face, snapping teeth loose and leaving his features grotesquely contorted.
Before Connors could recover, Anton grabbed his arm, the Rabbit Armor's motors whirring at full power.
Crack!
The sickening sound of bone snapping filled the air as Anton tore Connors' arm from its socket.
"AAARRGH!"
Connors' enraged screams echoed as blood gushed from his wound, staining the bridge crimson.
But Anton wasn't done. Using the same brutal force, he tore off Connors' right leg, leaving him crippled and helpless.
Though Connors' regeneration kept him alive, the severe blood loss and psychological trauma left him incapacitated.
Standing over his foe, Anton, drenched in blood, resembled a vengeful god of war.
Thud!
Connors collapsed, and Anton planted a foot on his chest, his expression icy.
The onlookers were stunned into silence.
Even those who had previously dismissed Batman as a mere vigilante were now filled with awe and fear.
Batman's ruthless efficiency left an indelible mark on everyone present.
