"you think so?" Seth asked

Gareth began thinking if he had somehow slipped up and they had caught up to him if they had contacted the village, or even worse, they had already begun making a move.

Like everyone else, he also has competitors, and of course, being away from home for a long time would bear questions.

"Am I joking? Do you think I'd walk into a camp full of bandits without knowing exactly what I'm dealing with? I'm not here to be bullied or bribed. I'm offering cooperation." Seth said calmly.

Gareth's hand twitches toward his weapon, but he stops himself.

"You've got guts, kid. I'll give you that. But I don't trust you."

"That makes two of us old man, But you're out of options, Gareth. You want that tombstone, and I can help you get closer to it. But only if we work together on my terms."

Gareth studies Seth, his mind calculating what Seth is to gain from this.
