No one knew how much time had passed.
One after another, members of Root arrived.
As they looked at Tsunade and Kiyoshi standing there, and at Danzo lying on the ground, covered in blood and in a wretched state, their faces changed dramatically.
They rushed forward, checking Danzo's condition.
Realizing he wasn't dead, they sighed in relief. "Lord Danzo!"
"Damn it, how dare they injure Lord Danzo like this."
Glaring at the untouched Tsunade and Kiyoshi, their faces darkened, filled with hostility and wariness.
They looked ready to charge and avenge Danzo right there.
"Just you lot?"
Tsunade's face turned icy.
She looked at the Root members with undisguised disdain.
Stomping her foot without hesitation, she scoffed, "Don't overestimate yourselves, you worthless Root scum!"
"Boom!"
A deafening roar echoed out.
The entire ground rumbled.
Rocks scattered everywhere, dust soared in the air.
A massive crack split forward, nearly swallowing the Root members whole.
Their faces paled, and they quickly backed off, dragging the unconscious Danzo to a safer distance.
"Gulp!"
"So this is the power of one of the Legendary Sannin?"
"Isn't it a bit… too much?"
Staring at the exaggerated crack in the earth, every Root member broke out in cold sweat, casting fearful glances at Tsunade.
It was obvious that she didn't seem affected by blood at all.
Looking at Danzo's pitiful state and the surrounding destruction, they could imagine just how fierce the battle had been.
"He's still alive..."
With arms crossed, Tsunade's green robe flapped in the wind.
Looking down at the Root members, she coldly stated, "When that guy Danzo wakes up, tell him... I spared his life this time. There won't be a next time!"
With that, she turned, motioning for the silent Kiyoshi to follow.
The imposing sight of their retreating backs left the Root members paralyzed, drenched in sweat without even realizing it.
---
"Tsunade-nee, that was so badass."
Once they had left the battlefield, Kiyoshi gave Tsunade a thumbs-up.
"Heh, I am one of the Legendary Sannin after all."
With her head held high, Tsunade boasted a bit, "You've got a lot to learn, kid!"
"But after such an intense fight, you still have energy?" she asked, noticing that Kiyoshi didn't look tired at all.
"Don't worry," Kiyoshi smiled.
"In a forest, I'm unbeatable!"
The battle with Danzo had seemed contained to a few hundred meters, but in reality, the entire vast forest had been Kiyoshi's ally.
By silently drawing energy from the roots of other trees around him, he had replenished himself.
He believed that with time, he could eventually absorb nature's energy infinitely, just like the God Tree planted by the Otsutsuki Clan.
The unique powers of his Nature-based Mori Mori no Mi Devil Fruit allowed him to develop his own powerful Sage Mode.
However, his chakra reserves remained limited, which placed a cap on his Sage Chakra supply.
"Actually, the fight just gave me a new idea."
Kiyoshi rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Oh?" Tsunade looked at Kiyoshi, intrigued.
"Typical Wood Clones are too big of a target."
Kiyoshi didn't hold back, explaining with a smile.
"I was thinking of developing a miniature Wood Clone jutsu. Smaller clones with the same power as the original Wood Clones."
"That way, combined with my own abilities, I could create and spread countless tiny clones throughout the battlefield, hidden underground or in trees."
"Then, they could launch surprise attacks on the enemy from any position, from any angle."
Even though he hadn't fully unleashed his power against Danzo, not even using Mangekyo Sharingan's eye techniques, Kiyoshi longed for true, balanced, exhilarating battles.
But since it had been his first real fight, he'd already learned a lot.
"That's actually a great idea."
Tsunade's eyes sparkled at his words.
She was fully aware that, for Kiyoshi, his clones inherited some of his primary abilities.
Moving stealthily through earth or trees, they were incredibly hard to detect.
If he could create smaller clones that could silently spread across a battlefield, they'd become a nightmare for his enemies.
"Just how does that brain of yours work?"
Tsunade tousled his hair with a smile, her eyes filled with pride and satisfaction.
He was the descendant of the Senju Clan and her personal student and Kiyoshi's skills weren't limited to Wood Release.
The Uchiha Clan had long dominated the shinobi world, amassing countless jutsu and secret techniques due to the Sharingan's ability to copy techniques effortlessly.
And with all chakra natures and a natural talent for ninjutsu, Kiyoshi was incredibly gifted, sometimes learning jutsu at a glance without even needing his Sharingan.
Even high-level jutsu and secret techniques weren't difficult for him to master quickly.
If he could combine these skills with his mini Wood Clones, he'd become almost impossible to counter.
"Tsunade-sama, Kiyoshi…"
At that moment…
Shizune and Tonton, one person and one pig, were rushing towards them through the forest.
"Is the battle over?"
Seeing that Kiyoshi and Tsunade looked completely unharmed and relaxed, Shizune was surprised.
"Yes, Kiyoshi handled it…" Tsunade shrugged, "We can continue on our journey now."
"Huh? That fast?"
Shizune was stunned, looking curious. "What about the head of Root, Danzo?"
From Kiyoshi's previous descriptions, he sounded like a troublesome foe, especially with forbidden techniques like Izanagi.
Not to mention, he had transplanted Shisui's eye, the Mangekyo Sharingan.
Could he have backed down without even fighting?
"Yes, he'll keep quiet from now on!"
