The desert was chaotic as a battle between Nations raged on its surface. The battles, the spells, the screams and most of all, the suffocating smell of thick, crimson blood coated the air.

These all reflected the saying of life being fleeting joy and lasting pain, all ending in the cold embrace of long-lasting slumber.

Life to Dusken in his previous one had been fleeting joy, pain, pain, and then more pain. However, in this life, there was an emptiness, one which he couldn't overcome no matter what. This was a result of him experiencing all there was to feel.

In this life, no emotions were foreign to him, and thus it was not worth living. Joy? Yeah, he once felt that on his birthdays in his previous life. Pain? Yup, he had experienced it almost every day in school. Love… true, he had a good, understanding family. He also had a beautiful wife to care for.
