章 80: Chapter 80

"Such speed!"

This thought rippled through the minds of every onlooker.

In the training field, all eyes were locked on Fujiwara Tetsuya, whose movements were akin to streaking lightning.

"Chidori, is it?"

Hiruzen Sarutobi, standing firm against Tetsuya's overwhelming presence, felt a subtle pressure radiating from the crackling lightning in the boy's hand. His expression shifted to a more serious tone.

Even for someone of his strength—an elite Kage-level ninja—taking a direct hit from such a technique would be far from pleasant.

"Lightning Release: Thunder Lance."

A spear of pure lightning, sharp and untamed, tore through the air with devastating force, descending upon Tetsuya like a falling thunderbolt.

Thunder Release?

Though not as refined as the legendary Raikiri, the sheer intensity of the Thunder Lance was more than enough to make an impression.

"Shatter it, Chidori!"

With an unyielding resolve, Tetsuya poured his chakra into the Chidori, amplifying its power. The chirping sound of a thousand birds intensified, echoing across the field as the two lightning techniques clashed head-on.

A brilliant explosion of energy erupted, lighting up the field.

"What arrogance!" one of the watching jonin muttered.

"That's the Hokage we're talking about! He's a master of all five elemental releases. No way a kid's technique could match his Thunder Lance!"

The voices of the doubters grew louder.

"Tetsuya-kun!"

In the distance, Uchiha Mikoto's eyes filled with worry. She clenched her fists tightly, her heart racing.

Unlike the mist-nin they had faced on the Isle of Mists, Hiruzen Sarutobi was a completely different caliber—a mountain no ordinary person could hope to scale.

The earth shook, and the booming impact from the clash resonated across the training field. For some of the younger ninja present, the sheer force of it was overwhelming; many instinctively covered their ears.

"Look again!"

One of the Uchiha jonin suddenly cried out, pointing at the arena. As the dust settled, the dazzling light of Tetsuya's Chidori pierced through, shattering Hiruzen's Thunder Lance entirely.

"Impossible!"

The crowd gasped in unison.

Before anyone could process what was happening, Tetsuya closed the gap between them in a flash, his Chidori now aimed directly at Hiruzen.

"Remarkable, Tetsuya," Hiruzen said, his voice calm despite the imminent danger. "Your control over Lightning Release has reached such a degree already?"

Though Hiruzen had been impressed by Tetsuya's swordsmanship earlier, he had been able to remain composed. After all, he'd seen plenty of prodigies in his time—some far beyond Tetsuya in sheer talent.

But this...

The precision and destructive force of the Chidori left no room for underestimation.

"Substitution?"

In the critical moment before Tetsuya's attack landed, Hiruzen's figure suddenly crumbled into a pile of mud.

"The Hokage used a Mud Clone?"

The realization swept through the spectators, their gazes brimming with disbelief.

"Even the Hokage... felt threatened by Chidori?"

Gasps filled the training ground.

Though this was merely a sparring session, the fact that a boy under nine years old had forced Hiruzen Sarutobi to retreat was nothing short of monumental.

For the jonin watching, this was the kind of feat that even a skilled chūnin could only dream of accomplishing in their lifetime.

---

"No wonder he's Tetsuya-kun."

Among the crowd, even the legendary sannin—Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru—couldn't hide their astonishment.

Tsunade's lips curled into a faint smile. "Jiraiya, does this remind you of something?"

"Hmm?"

"Back when we'd just graduated from the Academy and sparred with our teacher."

Jiraiya groaned. "Don't bring that up. It's embarrassing enough that sensei ended our match in one move..."

Tsunade chuckled, the memory fresh in her mind. "He buried you with Earth Release: Headhunter Technique. You flailed so much, I thought you'd sprain your neck trying to dig out."

"That's enough, Tsunade!"

Jiraiya turned away with a huff, though a faint blush crept up his cheeks. His embarrassment wasn't misplaced; compared to what Tetsuya was pulling off, his younger self had indeed been lackluster.

---

Back in the arena, Tetsuya remained alert, watching the remnants of the mud clone dissolve beneath his feet.

"His proficiency with Clone Techniques is absurd."

Tetsuya's keen eyes scanned the area, but no matter how hard he looked, he couldn't pinpoint Hiruzen's real position.

Suddenly, a roaring heat surged behind him.

"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Bullet."

A fiery wave surged forth, engulfing the area with an overwhelming intensity.

"Water Release: Water Wall!"

Tetsuya swiftly countered, erecting a swirling barrier of water to meet the flames head-on. Steam erupted in an instant, cloaking the entire battlefield in a dense mist.

For a moment, everything was silent.

"Perfect," Tetsuya thought, taking a moment to regulate his breathing.

The rising mist created the perfect cover for his next move.

"Water Release: Water Severing Wave."

From within the fog, Tetsuya unleashed a sharp, high-pressure stream of water, sweeping across the battlefield in a wide arc.

Hiruzen narrowed his eyes, the corner of his lips curling slightly. "Relying on the mist to mask your movements? Not bad, Tetsuya."

With swift movements, he formed a string of hand seals.

"Earth Release: Rock Tomb."

Pillars of earth erupted from the ground, intercepting the water wave mid-flight. The clash between the elements sent vibrations through the ground, shaking the spectators.

But Tetsuya wasn't finished.

"In battle, overwhelming force is key."

He channeled more chakra, letting it surge into his technique. The Water Severing Wave intensified, breaking through Hiruzen's defenses.

The crowd gasped once more as the pressure of Tetsuya's attack pushed Hiruzen further back.

Though the fog obscured much of the scene, it was clear that this wasn't an ordinary spar anymore—it was a clash of wills, strategy, and sheer talent.

---

"He's grown strong."

Hiruzen couldn't help but admire the boy. Though he was the Hokage, a shinobi who had seen and fought in countless battles, the younger generation always had a way of surprising him.

Still, as the mist began to clear, a glint of determination sparked in his eyes.

"Let's see how far you can push me, Tetsuya."

The battle wasn't over yet.
