As the city lights flickered on, casting their warm glow over the streets, I walked beside Frank, feeling the slight buzz of alcohol in my veins. The evening air was cool, the breeze sobering me up, but none of it really mattered. What mattered was the satisfaction that spread through me, knowing I had Frank exactly where I wanted him. Tonight had gone exactly as planned.

I'd gone to the bar with one goal: to piss Frank off. I knew he'd come running, just like he always did, storming in like a force of nature, his eyes narrowing the moment he saw me surrounded by strangers, clearly not where I was supposed to be.
