Noah had an amazing weekend. Not only did he reveal his identity to Gwen and clear up the misunderstandings between them, but he also got a sweet kiss.
Regarding Noah's secret, Gwen promised to keep it safe. However, Noah suggested that she could share his identity with Mary Jane since they were partners. He emphasized that only his identitie should be disclosed, while everything else needed to remain confidential.
Gwen agreed, understanding that revealing Noah's identity to Mary Jane would be enough. She was grateful to Noah; otherwise, she wouldn't have known how to explain her encounter with Venom to her friend.
Noah had considered this in advance, telling Gwen it was okay to share with Mary Jane, as he didn't want Gwen to feel distressed over the matter.
As for how Gwen handled criminals, Noah didn't object to her decision not to kill them. He just advised her to be cautious and prioritize her safety. He urged her not to let mercy put her in a dangerous position and to be more forceful when necessary.
Gwen didn't disagree. She admitted that she had been too naïve before. Noah also shared Bill's story with her.
What he was doing with his victims and that he had been arrested before.
Seeing the regret and guilt in Noah's expression as he recounted the tale, Gwen began to understand why he had changed his approach and started taking harsher measures against criminals.
"Don't let your kindness to criminals become a source of suffering for others," Noah said. "Every criminal must pay for their crimes. Forgiving them doesn't bring peace to the victims, nor does it protect those who haven't been harmed."
"No one has the right to forgive criminals on behalf of the victims. My job is to judge them for those who can't seek revenge themselves."
Listening to Noah's words, Gwen realized that these were lessons he had learned from pain and regret. As she continued to fight crime, Gwen came to understand the darker side of being a hero.
She acknowledged that she needed to change, but it would take time. At least for now.
Regardless of Gwen's approach, Noah respected her choices. His only demand was that she protect herself.
Noah never forced others to agree with him. He knew everyone's path to justice was different, but as long as they fought for the same goal, they were partners.
As night fell, Noah continued swinging between the city buildings, watching over the streets below.
"Huh? A robbery at gunpoint? And the victim's a girl?" Noah noticed something happening in a nearby alley and quickly made his way there.
"Please, take my money, but don't kill me!" the woman sobbed, terrified as she cowered against the wall. Her wallet was already on the ground, but the man looming over her didn't seem satisfied.
With a cruel grin, the man said, "Don't worry, sweetheart. I wouldn't kill someone as pretty as you."
He licked his lips and, raising his gun, ordered, "Now be a good girl. Turn around, lift up your skirt, and let me have some fun. Then, maybe, I'll let you go."
The woman cried and shook her head in desperation.
Suddenly, a figure dropped silently between them—Noah.
The man recoiled in fear, his voice trembling. "You... you're Venom?"
He backed away, but Noah saw the flash of deception in the man's eyes. A split second later, sharp claws shot out from behind Noah, aiming for his heart.
But Noah, already anticipating the attack, ducked swiftly.
"You really need to work on your acting," he muttered in a hoarse voice, moving with lightning speed.
As the woman's claws missed, Noah countered, driving his elbow into her stomach and slamming her against the wall. The impact cracked the brick, and blood spurted from her mouth.
Before she could react, Noah's hands wrapped around her throat. She struggled, but as she raised her claws to fight back, two black blades pinned her hands to the wall, immobilizing her.
Meanwhile, the man was also trapped. A black tentacle had coiled around his neck, lifting him off the ground while four more blades pierced his limbs.
Anyone watching would have been horrified by the sight—a black, viscous substance oozed from the wall, morphing into tentacles that ensnared the man and woman like a demonic force pulling them into the abyss.
Noah had sensed something off from the start. His Venom sense [spider sense] had been on high alert, and he had prepared for this being a trap.
Sure enough, the moment the woman attacked, Noah was ready. His symbiote, Venom, had split from him just before the fight, allowing him to react even faster.
After subduing both attackers, Noah didn't stop there. He crushed the woman's limbs beneath his feet and made sure Venom gagged her to prevent any suicide attempts. He repeated the same process with the man.
Once they were incapacitated, Noah withdrew Venom. Though it could function independently for a short time, the longer it stayed out, the weaker it became.
With the immediate threat gone, Noah extended small black tendrils from his hands, which burrowed into the mouths of his captives. He was searching their memories.
But before he could get much information, the heads of both captives exploded with a soft pop. Noah cursed under his breath. Despite his precautions, they had somehow triggered a failsafe.
Frustrated, he wrapped their bodies in black cocoons using Venom's tendrils.
After a brief moment, Noah let out a sigh of relief. "Success."
He had managed to extract two new abilities: claws that could be activated without Venom and skin enhancement that provided resistance to damage.
While Noah was pleased with the skin enhancement, he found the claw ability somewhat underwhelming. Still, both powers could be useful in the right circumstances.
As he wrapped up his work, Noah reflected on the limited information he had gleaned: the attackers were part of a group called Blackwater Security, They were hired to kill him by someone who seemed to have a grudge against me. Their entire plan had been based on exploiting his hatred for crimes like rape.
"No more playing around," Noah muttered. "Blackwater Security.
With that, Noah dissolved the remains of the attackers using special chemicals and resumed his patrol. He had new enemies to face.
