章 100: Akatsuki

As we walked towards Itachi, I couldn't help but notice his attire—he was wearing a black cloak adorned with red clouds, a design unmistakable to anyone familiar with the Akatsuki. Beside him stood another figure, similarly dressed, but this person was much taller than Itachi. He carried a large sword strapped to his back, an imposing presence that hinted at his strength.

As we neared them, both Itachi and the taller figure seemed to sense our approach. In an instant, they turned to face us, their eyes locking onto ours. The atmosphere grew tense as we stood there, just a few steps away from the two men.

"Well, well, if it isn't Naruto Uzumaki, the son of the Fourth Hokage," Itachi sneered, his expression as unreadable as ever.

I stood my ground, refusing to be intimidated, and replied with a grin. "Hey, long time no see. I presume you've got quite the company with you."

Before I could say more, the hulking figure beside him stepped forward. "I am Kisame Hoshigaki, the Monster of the Hi—"

He didn't get to finish. Sasuke's voice rang out, sharp and angry, cutting him off. "Itachi, what are you doing here? I thought if you heard about Father and the others being alive, you'd come back to Konoha. But here you are, acting like you have no connection to the Uchiha clan!"

I glanced at Sasuke. His fists were clenched, and his Sharingan flared with raw emotion. I could feel the tension rising as he confronted his brother.

"Cool down, Sasuke," I said firmly, stepping between him and Itachi. "I think you both have some spare time, so let's talk this out somewhere quieter. I'm guessing you didn't come here to fight or make a scene, so let's avoid standing out."

As we turned to look around, it became clear that the entire area was watching us. The Suna villagers stood frozen, their expressions a mix of fear, confusion, and tension, as if they were bracing for a fight to erupt at any moment.

"Yeah, I think we should move from here," Sakura added, her voice calm but insistent, echoing my suggestion.

Everyone nodded in agreement, and without another word, we left the spot, moving quickly to avoid drawing more attention. After a short search, we found a small, quiet restaurant tucked away from the bustling streets. It was the perfect place to sit down and talk without interruptions. We settled in, ready to finally get some answers.

As we settled down, I couldn't contain my curiosity. "Itachi, what's with this cool outfit?" I asked, my eyes scanning the black attire with red cloud designs.

Itachi, true to his quiet nature, didn't respond. Instead, Kisame smirked and leaned forward. "This? It's what members of our organization get when they join," he said, his tone nonchalant.

"Organization? What kind of organization?" I pressed, intrigued.

But neither of them answered this time. Their silence only made me more curious, but I decided to let it slide for now and changed the topic. "So, Itachi, how's the surprise?" I asked with a knowing grin.

Itachi raised an eyebrow. "What surprise?" he asked cautiously.

I leaned in a little, my grin widening. "About your father and the Uchiha clan. All of them are alive," I revealed.

His calm demeanor faltered for a moment, his eyes narrowing in disbelief. "Even Shisui is alive," I added, deliberately dropping the name to gauge his reaction.

At the mention of Shisui, Itachi's expression shifted. His usual stoic mask cracked, and for a brief second, something akin to pain flashed across his face. "No," he said firmly, his voice laced with disbelief. "I don't believe it. I saw Shisui die with my own eyes. Without his death, I wouldn't have awakened my Mangekyō Sharingan."

I met his piercing gaze with my own determination. "You don't have to take my word for it. Ask your brother if you think I'm lying," I said, nodding toward Sasuke.

Sasuke, still simmering with emotions, nodded slowly. "It's true, Itachi. Father, the others...even Shisui—they're all alive," he said, his voice quieter but steady.

Itachi stared at Sasuke, the weight of his brother's words sinking in. For the first time, his impassive façade seemed to crack completely.

"Alright then, here's the deal," I said, leaning forward with a determined look. "I'll tell you everything that happened that day—everything about the attack on Danzo, Shisui, and the Uchiha massacre. But in exchange, you'll reveal everything about your so-called organization and its ideals. Do we have a deal?"

Itachi remained silent, but I could tell he was eager to hear about his old friend's survival. Kisame, on the other hand, was observing us carefully, waiting to see how things played out.

"I see both of you are eager," I continued, a smirk forming. "Why don't we make a deal? We exchange information; it's a win-win situation for both sides."

There was a long pause, but eventually, both Itachi and Kisame agreed. "OK," they said in unison.

With the deal sealed, I took a deep breath and began recounting everything that had happened—Danzo's betrayal, the attack on Shisui, and how the Uchiha massacre was part of my revenge plan against the village's higher-ups.

It took a moment for the gravity of my words to sink in. They sat there, processing everything I said.

I turned to the waiter. "Excuse me, could you bring two glasses of water?"

The waiter nodded and returned with the drinks. "Here, sir."

I handed the glasses over to Itachi and Kisame. "Here, drink this," I said calmly, watching them both closely.

They took the water, but Itachi's frown deepened, while Kisame burst out laughing.

"I didn't know you had it in you," Kisame said, shaking his head. "At your age, you planned a revenge plot and executed it perfectly. How old were you when all this happened?"

I leaned back in my chair, thinking for a moment. "I think I was six years old."

Kisame's laughter only grew louder. "Six years old, and you were already that cunning? You're scary, kid."

I looked at Kisame, the weight of my words still hanging in the air. "What can I do? They brought it upon themselves. They destroyed my clan, killed my father, or at least were the reason for his death. And now they're trying to do the same to another clan I thought of as family. Do you think it's unreasonable to act on it?"

Kisame took a moment, then gave a slight nod. "I think you've got a point."

I leaned back, crossing my arms. "Then fulfill your bargain."

Kisame didn't hesitate. "Alright," he said, glancing at Itachi, who had been silently watching the exchange. "Our organization is called Akatsuki. Our objective is peace."

I, Sasuke, and Sakura were all stunned by his words. "What? Peace?" I blurted out, struggling to understand what he meant.

The room fell into a heavy silence, the shock settling over us. Peace? How could an organization like theirs—one that used fear and manipulation—possibly aim for peace? It didn't make sense.
