As soon as the flag dropped, Guy unleashed a fierce kick toward Kakashi.

"Take this, Kakashi!"
Kakashi jumped back to avoid the attack. He knew Guy excelled in taijutsu, so he needed to keep his distance and use shuriken and ninjutsu to gain the upper hand.
Guy's kick slammed into the ground, sending dust flying. With a grin, he kicked a rock from the ground, launching it at Kakashi, using the dust as cover.
Kakashi didn't notice the rock in time, so he deflected it with a kunai, but by then, Guy had already closed the distance. He unleashed another powerful kick.
"Leaf Great Whirlwind!"
Kakashi avoided the attack by substituting himself with a log and quickly began weaving hand signs. Flames in the shape of phoenix blossoms shot from his mouth while he threw multiple shuriken. The flames and shuriken fused together, creating a deadly combination aimed at Guy.
This was a more advanced version of the Phoenix Flower Jutsu—*Phoenix Flower Claw Crimson*.
Guy knew his body couldn't withstand the burning shuriken, so he sidestepped, deflecting the shuriken as they whizzed past him. The thrown shuriken clattered to the ground, but Kakashi wasn't just wasting time. Using the distraction, he executed a lightning-quick body flicker technique, closing in on Guy.

The sound of chirping birds filled the air as Kakashi's Chidori buzzed dangerously close to Guy's ear. Guy didn't dodge; instead, he allowed the Chidori to strike him head-on.
Suddenly, a hand shot up from below, grabbing Kakashi's wrist that was channeling the Chidori. The Guy in front of him crumbled into a pile of shed skin.
"Got you, Kakashi!" Guy shouted in excitement.
He twisted Kakashi's arm and spun him around, hurling him into the air toward the edge of the battlefield.
The audience gasped, expecting Kakashi to be finished. Among the cheers, Obito's voice rang out:
"Way to go, Bowl-Cut! Smash Kakashi!"
Rin, however, looked on in concern. Knowing Guy's strength, she feared Kakashi might be hurt from that throw.
Haneda furrowed his brow, but when he activated his three-tomoe Sharingan, he smiled knowingly.
Just as Kakashi was about to collide with the wall, his body dissipated into a puff of smoke—a shadow clone. A hand emerged from the ground, grabbing Guy's ankle.
"Now I've got you, Guy," Kakashi said as he appeared from the earth.
His real body had been hiding underground using the Earth Release technique, while the clone set the trap. Kakashi's cautious and strategic fighting style was paying off once again.
The audience erupted into cheers as Kakashi pressed a kunai to the back of Guy's neck.
"Give up, Guy. You can't beat me," Kakashi said calmly.
Guy, however, murmured to himself, "I didn't want to use this move…"
From behind his back, a snake shot out, snatching the kunai from Kakashi's grasp. Suddenly, Guy's chakra flared, and his body was enveloped in green vapor—his chakra was surging.
"The Fourth Gate—Gate of Pain, open!"
Guy swung his right leg, flinging Kakashi's shadow clone into the air. The clone vanished in a puff of smoke as it made contact with Kakashi, sparing him from taking more damage.
But Guy wasn't done. His speed increased beyond the body flicker technique, and in an instant, he appeared behind Kakashi.
"Leaf Strong Whirlwind!"
"Embrace my youth, Kakashi!"
Seeing this, Kakashi's eyes narrowed. He quickly formed hand signs, and an earthen wall shaped like a dog's head rose from the ground, blocking Guy's powerful kick.
"I didn't want to reveal this move just yet…"
"You've gotten a lot stronger, Guy, but like Haneda, I'm still stronger."
With that, Kakashi stopped holding back. He drew the short sword from his back, and the sound of the Chidori echoed as electricity coated the blade.
Lightning flashed as Kakashi's Chidori Blade pierced through the earthen wall. Guy narrowly dodged the strike, almost taking a hit to his thigh.
But Kakashi wasn't finished. The Chidori Blade transformed into a Chidori Spear, and with a flash of light, the earthen wall was cleaved apart.
Despite his enhanced chakra defenses, Guy was struck by the sweeping Chidori Spear, leaving a two-millimeter-deep gash on his chest. Blood splattered.
"Do you still want to continue, Guy? I'm worried I won't be able to hold back," Kakashi said, twirling his short sword with a flourish before pointing it toward the ground and slowly walking toward Guy.
"If that's the case, I'll go all out too!"
"I was planning to save this move for Haneda!"
Guy crossed his arms and then forcefully spread them apart.
"Eight Gates Release—Fifth Gate, Gate of Limit, open!"
Guy's chakra surged again, this time at an even higher level. With the Fifth Gate open, his movements were fast enough to stir the air, creating waves on the ground.
He used the strange running technique Orochimaru had taught him and charged at Kakashi with a powerful kick.
"This is my strongest move right now—Leaf Super Strong Whirlwind!"
"Let's make sure our youth has no regrets, Kakashi!"
The sheer force of Guy's attack moved the air in waves, almost forming a visible shockwave that rushed toward Kakashi. The audience watched in awe, many of them holding their breath.
Even the Suna representative, Pakura, couldn't help but be impressed.
"What power… what strength. Konoha truly has an abundance of talent," Pakura murmured.
"Besides Uchiha Haneda and Hatake Kakashi, there's also this Might Guy…"
Thinking of how the village's prodigy, Sasori, had left Suna, Pakura sighed.
"The younger generation of Suna has truly been left behind…"
Minato, watching from the stands, felt a pang of concern for Kakashi. Though he knew Kakashi always performed well, could he really withstand a full-power strike from Guy using the Fifth Gate?
In the arena, Kakashi suddenly spoke up.
"I told you, like Haneda, I'm stronger than you."
Kakashi raised his short sword and advanced. As the blade cut through the air, two different chakra natures surged forth.
Wind-style and lightning-style chakra!
In an instant, a blue dragon emerged from the blade, coiling around Kakashi as he muttered softly.
Just before the sword met Guy's kick, Kakashi flipped the blade, striking with the flat side.
"One-Sword Style—Blue Dragon Mark."
Kakashi sheathed his sword, and at that moment, Guy collapsed to the ground.
As he looked up at Kakashi's back, which overlapped in his mind with Haneda's, Guy couldn't help but shout:
"Kakashi! One day, I'll defeat you and then challenge Haneda!"
Hearing this, Kakashi glanced at Haneda, noticing the smile on his face, before turning back to Guy and saying:
"Is that so? Alright. I recognize your youth."
