"Rhysand!" she gasped into the phone, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Where are you?" Rhysand's calm voice asked, laced with concern.

"In my office," she replied, glancing at Callum, who was now watching her closely.

"I'm downstairs," Rhysand said, his tone sharp. "I'll be up in a minute."

Ariel felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Okay," she whispered, then shot Callum a cold glare as she ended the call. "Get out," she mouthed silently, her eyes burning with fury.

Callum hesitated, his jaw clenching as jealousy flickered across his face.

He knew better than to challenge Rhysand Rhysand.

The last time he had tried, he'd ended up nearly hospitalized.

He gritted his teeth and stormed toward the door, pausing only to throw Ariel one last bitter glance.

"This isn't over," he muttered before disappearing into the hallway.
