章 13: The Reunion
"4th ... Hokage"
"I am here too you know dattebane"
Naruto chose to ignore Kushina and stared at the Hokage he admired the most in disbelief. This person, having already reached Naruto's goal before Naruto was born was a legendary figure for anyone in the village, and especially for Naruto.
"YONDAIME, You are still getting in my way even after death" Kyuubi barked.
"Kyubi, shut your mouth dattebane"
"Tch, the moment my claw pierced you is the best memory of my life accursed woman."
"Even then with half my body gone you couldn't resist my chains dattebane"
"Kushina, please ca-" Minato tried calming her down.
"All you have is your lineage anyways tomato-head" Kyubi growled.
"And all you have is your filthy chakra you feeble fox dattebane"
"Kushina..."
"And you put that same chakra in your own son you failure of a mother."
"I..." Kushina stammered.
"Naruto will overc-" Minato was going to defend her wife.
"Mom, are you my mom?" Naruto asked, overcoming his disbelief, his tone hopeful yet desperate. Could he actually meet his mother? One of the two people he wanted to see the most.
Kushina turned her gaze towards Naruto, her eyes full of remorse looking at her son's dishevelled state. Naruto's clothes were battered, his body was fully drenched in blood and his seal was leaking. He looked battered to the point where you would give him some money if he sat near a road, worse than even a beggar.
"Ah, let's change the enviroment." Minato flicked his fingers and the stuffy underground became a bright yellow expanse of a void.
Kushina's bright demeanor came back as she gazed at her grown-up son.
"Yes, Naruto. I am your mother."
A small smile appeared on Naruto's face, glad to have finally met her but after a moment, a frown took its place, deepening each second.
"Is what the Kyuubi said true? Did you seal the Nine Tails inside of me?"
Kushina's remorse returned as she stared at her son, at a loss for words.
Looking at the conflicted Kushina, Minato answered the question.
"We sealed it together Naruto, your mother and father, Kushina and I.
"My.. father?" Naruto said with a questioning look.
"You heard me right. You are my son, Naruto" Minato said.
Naruto was frozen with the revelations, he had to process that for a moment.
"The Third Hokage didn't tell you anything right? Before we explain everything, I will strengthen your seal for some time."
Minato walked towards Naruto.
"Dad" Naruto said.
He dashed at Minato and punched his gut.
"Ugh"
"Naruto" Kushina's eyes were filled with worry. She hoped their son did not hate them.
"Why did you and mom seal the Kyuubi inside your own son? Do you know what I went through because of that? All the grown-ups looked at me in contempt and I couldn't make any friends I wanted people to accept me so I trained really hard and became a ninja I met Iruka Sensei and Kakashi Sensei and I was happy because I had people supporting me but then some bad ninja came to Konoha so I tried to fight him I thought I had become stronger but he still killed my friends, the Konoha ninja, Kakashi-sensei, Grandpa and even Sasuke but... huh? What am I saying? Damn it what am I supposed to do I don't even kno-"
Naruto felt a firm hold on himself.
It was her mother. Her mother was giving him a hug, crying.
"Naruto, I am sorry you had to through such hard things, I am sorry I couldn't be with you, I am sorry I couldn't be a proper mother. I wanted to live a peaceful life with Minato and you, I wanted to have a great family but we couldn't give that to you. I am sorry I made you grow up all alone. I love you, Naruto. I.. hck. I am." Kushina kept crying, tightening her embrace at the bloodied Naruto.
Naruto couldn't fathom what was happening. He wasn't mature enough yet. Was this how mothers behaved? What was he supposed to do?
Minato hugged the 2 together, making Naruto even more... confused? Sad? Or was he happy?
"You can relax Naruto. Let go of your hate, your anger. That man isn't here, we are."
Naruto thought "I can relax here? I don't have to think of about the outside... about him."
"It is indeed so peaceful here. Hugs feel so good."
"Though my mother's tears are getting on my face."
"Wait, those are mine. When did I start crying?"
"I will just... relax a little. With my mother and father."
The family of three stayed like that for who knows how long, but what felt like a second. Kushina had cried her bawls out and Naruto had a genuine smile on his face, even after that traumatic event. Though he had not forgotten what that man had done, he didn't want to leave that new sensation. But they had to part. The bright yellow void was slowly getting redder and redder.
"Naruto, let me strengthen your seal."
"Mhm."
Minato touched the seal, slowly but firmly restraining it to the 8th tailed state.
Outside, the Kyuubi's slowly increasing rampant chakra had started cooling down and its abdomen was glowing a bright white.
"Interesting. That seal is indeed a great work." Fang Yuan mused.
"Though I can't have that happening."
The nearly 9 tailed Kyuubi had been getting restrained with no way to get free, and that was obviously even more fatal for the now 8 tailed fox. It couldn't even raise its regenerating head before it got destroyed again. The regeneration was failing to keep up, making Kyuubi sacrifice some limbs and its ears for a chance to stay alive from the jutsu rain.
"Time to end this beast." Fang Yuan's chakra was finally running out.
The wooden tendrils controlling the sphere of flying thunder god kunai merged back with the ground. The kunai following them. The wooden rapid jutsu fire machine things also stopped working.
The battered Kyuubi looked up with a singular eye, slowly getting regenerated. It had taken too much damage even for its incredible regeneration.
"Damn You Fang Yuan, if Yondaime hadn't intercepted, you would have been dead."
"No need to talk, I have no use for you anymore fox." Fang Yuan's voice cut through.
"Wood Path: Hundred Thorn Jutsu" Wood spread throughout the battered beast.
"And my new attack, created specifically for your kind."
"My kind? As if my brothers and sisters can hope to beat you." Kyuubi sneered.
"Wood Path: Ten Thousand Worms Jutsu"
The wood bent and merged and after a few seconds, somethings started appearing from the ground. Even though they were made of wood, they seemed slimy, and very hungry. Ten thousand worms had appeared from the ground and each bit the monstrous beast. They all started sucking the beast's vitality, its chakra. Even with their numbers, it started slow at first but the rate of absorption got faster and faster.
The worms were getting bigger, getting stronger with each suck of chakra. Getting larger, growing longer, forming horns and scales.
They were slowly becoming dragons.
Kyuubi's remanining chakra was flowing down the drain. It roared in pain, unable to retaliate. It couldn't even lift its head up anymore.
"Fang Yuan, the next time I reincarnate, if you are alive, no, as long as you are alive, I will kill you. If I can't, I will try again, if I fail 10000 times, I will try for the 10001th time."
"Even if you run to the end of the world, I will destroy the world to find and kill you, you bastard."
"I bet on my honour as the strongest tailed beast, one day you will get killed by me."
"Shut up, beast." Fang Yuan was annoyed.
"Huh" Kyuubi was confused.
"Who said I would allow you to reincarnate" Fang Yuan said.
The little worms were all now baby dragons, disabling the Kyuubi from even closing its own eyelids. The only reason it could still talk was that it didn't use it's jaws for speech.
Fang Yuan punched the side of the beast, turning it. The Kyuubi was now laying down, its back on the ground. Fang Yuan jumped up and landed on the beast's abdomen, examining the seal below.
"Will you seal me too Fang Yuan. I thought you were different. Now you show your true colors."
"Don't make assumptions beast. Just enjoy your last moments."
"Huh" Kyuubi was confused. Why was he near the seal then?
Fang Yuan touched the glowing seal, scanning for the presence causing the change.
"Oh, here you are."
Minato was still in the sealing process.
"What is this feeling?" Minato wandered.
"Was that... was the seal infiltrated." He thought.
"What happened dad?"
"Minato, is everything okay?"
"I felt like... like the seal got taken over."
"Huh, is there a better sealmaster than you Minato?" Kushina asked doubtfully.
The couple looked at each other, unsure of what was happening.
Naruto on the other hand wasn't so laid-back.
"Mom... Dad... look."
The couple turned to see a man standing just a few meters back.
A beautiful man with silky long hair, perfect skin wearing a wooden battle robe, despite his looks of a saviour, his presence carried unrivaled dread.
"We meet again, Yondaime." Fang Yuan said with a heart-warming smile.
