I couldn't speak. All I could feel was the cold dread settling in my bones, the weight of the letter pressing against me. Its sinister message played in my mind over and over like a broken record.

"Oh, honey, I won't tell you it's going to be alright, but know that we're here for you," Maeve says, her hand resting on my shoulder, trying to ground me.

Valerie nods her head in agreement, her face drawn in concern. The weight of their support was comforting, but it didn't stop the tremor in my hands.

"We can't tell anyone else," I whispered, almost to myself. "You guys are the only ones that know."

"You need to tell someone, Freya. This looks like it could get dangerous," Valerie says softly. "Maybe Alexander or Sylus? From what you said, it seems they're involved in some way."
