章 7: Misunderstanding!
Karthik and Neil were present with Sachin Arora. On hearing his words, Karthik said, "I have spent the long journey of my life only listening to people's words, you tell me what is the matter?"
Hearing this, Neel gritted his teeth and said, "Have you started having seizures again?"
Then he calmed himself down and sat on the chair placed in front of him and shrugged his shoulders and said, "Sir, can you start your speech?"
Sachin glared at Neel and said, "Sir, I am not going to give any speech, nor will I say anything bad about you people. I just feel pity for you and your narrow mindedness."
After saying this he looked at Kartik who started looking at him with questioning eyes and folded hands.
Sachin passed some files to Kartik and said, "You should check these files once. City Line Hospital is the number one hospital in Delhi and the doctors and management here are the best because we all have worked hard to bring City Line Hospital to this level. But one day suddenly a business tycoon named Kartik Mittal arrives here and spoils all our hard work. He brings the hospital down from the heights to the ground in just 24 hours."
Till now, Kartik was listening carefully to every word spoken by Sachin with his hands folded.
Sachin continued his talk and said, "Mr. Mittal, if I tell you the truth, you will feel bad, but I am not afraid of anyone."
Karthik took a deep breath and kept listening to her silently.
Sachin continued his talk and said, "If you would have done charity or some donation for the hospital like every businessman does, then I would have really respected you, but here also you looked at your profit, right Mr. Mittal?"
After saying this, he started staring at Karthik. His anger was clearly visible in his voice and on his face.
Karthik took a deep breath and said, "A hardworking doctor here was dealing with my friend, he was extorting money in exchange for treating her father, so you tell me Mr. Arora, what should I have done in this condition, first I should have come and talked to your management and waited until you people took action against that doctor, am I right?"
Sachin took off his glasses and put them on the table and said, "Mr. Mittal, how far was it right to punish the entire hospital for the mistake of one person?"
Then he took a deep breath and said, "Anyway, leave all this aside and tell me what do you want from me?"
Karthik's reply came, "I want you to continue doing your work the way you have been doing it, you don't need to go anywhere."
Hearing this, Sachin smiled and looking at Karthik said, "And if I don't want to agree with you, what will you do?"
Karthik immediately said, "I know that even if I tell you that I will double your package, you will still not stay, but I would like to tell you that you should stay here to save the hope of lakhs of people, you also know this very well that this is a hospital, even if the doctor is changed, it will not make much difference to the hospital, but if the management is completely changed, then this hospital will completely change, which is not certain."
Hearing this, Sachin started thinking something.
Karthik further continued his talk and said, "I hope that you will stay here, not for yourself but for the hope of thousands of people who come to City Line Hospital from far away places."
Sachin took a deep breath and looked at Karthik and said, "I need time to think"

Both of them were standing outside the lift waiting for the lift.
Neil looked at Karthik and said, "Friend, that Sachin Arora was so grumpy, how could he tell you straight to your face that it doesn't matter to him!" Karthik did not give any reply after hearing his words.
By then the lift had come in front of them. As soon as they both got inside the lift, their eyes fell on Shefali who was also inside the lift. Shefali was ignoring them both.
Kartik continued the conversation and said to her, "Hi! Look, fate has brought us together again, in this lift."
Saying this he started smiling.
Shefali just nodded yes, so after thinking for a while, Kartik said, "What's the matter, you look a bit worried, is everything alright, how is your father?"
This time Shefali said while getting a little irritated, "How many times will you ask the same question? I have told you once, baba, it's okay, now please forgive me."
Kartik and Neil had not expected this reaction from Shefali. Neil looked at Shefali with a shocked face and Kartik was also surprised. Kartik thought for a while and said, "Shefali, tell me clearly what the matter is?"
By then the lift stopped on the 7th floor of the hospital. Shefali got out of the lift without answering his question.
The lift was about to close when Neel looked at Kartik and said, "Now do I have to tell you to go behind the girl and ask her what the misunderstanding is?!"
Saying this, he once again pressed the button to open the lift and pushed Karthik out of the lift, closed the lift and went to the ground floor.
Kartik almost fell out of the lift thanks to Neil.
Hearing the voice, Shefali turned back and saw that Kartik started pretending to be sitting on the floor after seeing her.
Shefali looked at him angrily and started walking away from there.
Karthik called out to her and said, "Shefali, you cannot go without answering my questions."
Saying this, Karthik stood up and started walking towards her with rapid steps. Seeing Karthik coming towards her, Shifali's throat started drying up due to fear. She said in fear, "O Mata Rani! Shefali further said, "And I am an ordinary middle class girl, for us middle class girls our self respect comes first and I don't think I should be friends with you, you helped me so much, I will never forget that favor in my whole life, but..."
Saying this, Shefali started leaving from there but Kartik stopped her by holding her hand, and said very casually, "If you tell me the reason for your anger, then I will be able to sleep peacefully today."
Shefali took out her smartphone from her purse, opened Instagram and Facebook and said, "Who took our picture that night?"
As soon as Kartik saw the photo in his mobile, he was surprised.
Shefali continued her talk and said, "And who made this picture of both of us viral, you know after this photo went viral I am not able to make eye contact with anyone in the bank, people are asking me all kinds of questions.... I am starting to feel that..."
After thinking something, Shefali remained silent leaving her words incomplete.
Karthik gave Shefali her mobile phone and said, "What are you feeling?"

Then after thinking for a while, Kartik said, "Why am I giving you an explanation? Before leaving, I would like to say this much that if you really feel that I am a wrong person, then I promise that I will never come in your way in future, never."
Saying this, Karthik took a look at Shefali and went away from there.
Karthik had arrived outside the hospital, where Neel was waiting for him. Seeing Karthik's face, Neel realized that he was upset, so he thought it better to keep quiet.
After some time they took a taxi and left for the hostel.
Karthik was completely silent and he was looking out of the taxi window.
Looking out of his side window, Neil said to Karthik, "Why are you in a bad mood? Did Shefali say anything to you?"
Karthik looked at Neel and said "I don't know why people misunderstand me..."
After saying this, Karthik became silent.
Neil said, caressing her shoulders, "I am with you!"
Hearing this, Kartik remembered something and he strangled Neel and said, "You are with me, this is my problem, tell me why did you have to throw me out of the lift!!"
Neel gestured him to let go of his neck. When Kartik let go of his neck, Neel said cursingly, "Friend, I sent you here to find out what is going on in the girl's mind."
Kartik gritted his teeth in anger and said, "You didn't send me, you threw me out of the lift."

After some time both of them reached their hostel. It was 12:00 at night.
But there was still no trace of sleep in Kartik's eyes. He was thinking about what Shefali had said.
Then suddenly Neel opened his eyes and saw that Kartik was still staring at the fan running above. He snapped his fingers three times in front of his eyes and Kartik started looking at him in a startled manner. Neel said while swaying in his sleep, "Brother, you still haven't slept?! You too.. If Shefali also considers you her friend, then she will definitely understand you,, this is your brother Neel saying. Now go to sleep quietly!!"
Looking back at the fan, Karthik said, "That's not the point, friend...!"
Neel was surprised to hear this. Turning towards her, he said consciously, "So what is the matter? Are you feeling lonely... I mean if that is the case then you can talk to your brother freely! Look, don't be shy, I understand everything!"

When Neel did not get any reply from Karthik, he gave up and turning towards himself said, "Huh! You are just wasting your time! Saying this, Neel went back to sleep and Kartik again got lost in his thoughts.

The next morning at 9:00 am, there were few minutes left for the football match between Rahul and Karthik to start in Hansraj College. Rahul called the peon and gave him a letter and said, "Go and give this to the sports teacher Miss D'Souza right away and listen, do exactly as I have told you to do." The peon took the letter to Miss D'Souza in her staff room and said, "Madam, this letter has been given by a boy named Karthik."

Rahul was already present outside the staff room with some boys and he wanted to see the reaction of Miss D'Souza from the window of the staff room.

After reading this letter, Madam D'Souza screamed with anger.

Rahul approached Madam D'Souza with his hands folded like a very disciplined student and said, "Yes, please tell me ma'am"
Madam said while adjusting her power glasses on her eyes, "This Karthik is in your batch right?"
Rahul nodded yes and said with an innocent face, "What's the matter ma'am, has he done some mischief again?"
Miss D'Souza was very upset. She did not give any reply. After thinking for a while Rahul said, "By the way right now he is in the college boys locker room."
Hearing this, Miss D'Souza left without saying anything. After she left, Rahul saw his friends and gave them a high-five and everyone started laughing.
