章 107: Trapped in Wonderland

The Mad Hatter grinned, his eyes trembling clumsily as they fixated on Soren with a crazed infatuation. "Oh, Alice... you're so beautiful... you will be the most beautiful little Alice in Wonderland..."

The Mad Hatter dangled him for a moment before placing him into a large, miniature diorama made from colorful cut-out paper.

In this "Wonderland," the floor was a patchwork of blue, black, white, and pink foam tiles.

Mushrooms of varying sizes were painted red and yellow, with white spots.

Paper had been cut into enormous gears, clocks, trees, and bone china cups.

Even the towering castles and clock towers were all crafted from intricately glued paper.

Soren was set down in "Wonderland," and he pretended to be afraid, hunching his shoulders and scrambling into the paper fortress, trying to escape the Mad Hatter's terrifying gaze looming from above.

The Mad Hatter burst into maniacal laughter, fiddling with the paper Wonderland, and dropped a large, yellow-brown toy cat, several times bigger than Soren, in front of him.

The Hatter's voice screeched, "Alice, Alice...! Do cats eat bats? Do bats eat cats?"

Soren ignored him, deftly climbing over the toy cat's tail and slipping through a narrow door ahead.

He pushed the door open.

—Inside, a dozen little girls, like a nest of wounded chicks, huddled together, trembling in fear within the small paper house.

Each of the girls had bright blonde hair.

They wore identical dresses, but some had broken arms, others broken legs, and some had dresses stained with dried blood.

Every one of them was incomplete, and the thick stench of blood was so overwhelming it felt almost tangible, like a horrifying dark prison.

An unprecedented rage nearly made Soren unable to breathe.

His anger was indescribable.

For a moment, his mind buzzed, completely blank, as his hands instinctively trembled, clenched tightly into fists.

The girls trembled in fear at his arrival.

Having suffered severe pain and trauma, none of them screamed or cried.

They were numb, like broken dolls, showing only the most basic nervous reactions, the last sign that they were still human.

Anyone with a conscience would lose their sanity at the sight of this hellish scene.

Soren wept.

Their hollow, lifeless eyes tore a gaping wound in his heart.

It was as if their injuries were his injuries, their pain his pain.

Their invisible tears etched deep scars on his soul.

A wave of overwhelming rage and grief crashed over him, making it impossible to control his emotions.

He was about to digivolve into Angemon but was shocked to realize that, in his shrunken state, he had lost the ability to evolve.

Two coarse, filthy fingers reached into the room from behind the door, grabbing the back of his collar.

The Mad Hatter's voice echoed above him: "Oh, Alice... don't wander into this room. These are all flawed, far beneath you... You will be the perfect Alice…"

Soren couldn't resist the immense force.

He was being dragged out of the room by the Mad Hatter, and in that brief moment, he quickly pulled out his communicator and sent a message: "Move in."

The signal was transmitted via radio to the other end, where Jason, who had been tracking the location and waiting in the shadows for a long time, immediately jumped down from a nearby crate.

Just as he was about to make his move, a sudden, violent sound came from the ceiling of the abandoned basement!

The explosion roared, shaking the entire space.

The ceiling blew apart, sending bricks and debris crashing down like water bursting through a dam.

In the midst of the explosion's aftermath, a massive dark figure appeared, ghost-like, flickering through the smoke.

...It's Batman.

His black cape resembled the grim reaper's cloak, fluttering behind him.

As Batman landed, he kicked the Mad Hatter square in the face.

The force deformed the Hatter's face, sending him flying like a soccer ball, crashing through a pile of crates stacked in the corner.

Soren, who had been tightly gripped by the Mad Hatter, was thrown into the air.

Jason dashed forward, quick enough to catch Soren just before he hit the pile of bricks.

Batman glanced at them, grabbed Jason by the collar, and growled in a low, rough voice full of anger: "I told you, no, acting, alone!"

Jason fearlessly glared back at his adoptive father, like a young lion ready to fight.

But before he could respond, Batman had already released his collar and pulled up his black cape, shielding them from a rain of bullets that were coming their way!

The Mad Hatter who is trembling, pushed himself up from the wreckage of broken crates.

He looked at Batman with a fanatical expression on his face, "Batman! You're here, Batman, oh... You can't take my little Alice..."

His eyes blinked quickly, darting upwards to the right.

Soren immediately sensed what he was planning and shouted, "Get down! He's going to use the miniaturized spray!"

Batman suddenly yanked Jason aside and rolled to avoid a cloud of grayish-purple mist that sprayed from the corner of the room.

He quickly activated a mechanism on his wrist, and a gas filter extended from his helmet, covering his mouth and nose.

Then, he pulled a small gas mask from his utility belt and tossed it to Jason.

"Put it on!" he growled, firing his grappling hook, which hit the mist nozzle in the corner with precision.

Batman then flipped forward and swung a punch at the Mad Hatter!

His fist landed with a heavy thud on the Hatter's torso, causing him to cry out in pain.

In a desperate move, the Mad Hatter grabbed a scalpel and hurled it at Batman.

Batman dodged, moving like a monster clad in black armor through the thick mist.

He coldly lifted the small Mad Hatter high and slammed him against the wall!

The sound of breaking bones echoed, sharp and terrifying.

The Mad Hatter's spine was snapped by Batman's force.

Blood covered the Mad Hatter's face, but his eyes still darted around, searching through the dense fog for Jason and Soren.
