"No, I don't think you missed anything." Prof. Oak's voice came through the phone shattering all of Barry's hopes. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, I realized the reason why you were laughing in the lab. I currently owe the pokémon center 430 poké and spent 1000 on other things."
Prof. Oak laughed.
"My boy, what did you spend 1000 on?"
"I wanted to create my own pokémon food so I bought books and the equipment for it." Barry explained.
"It reminds me of my trainer days when I racked up debts." He said midway through his laugh. "I told you before you left, If I wanted to spoil all of you I could have easily been giving 100, 000 but in order for you to grow you need to learn how to face hardships."
Barry sighed, it seemed that he would barely be spending money.
"I can't help you with anything but I can give you some advice, before you spend on anything think about the following: Is this going to be helpful on my adventure, Is this worth it's cost, can I live without it and is this going to benefit my pokémon.
If the item passes all these it is worth buying. But if you're quite short on money I recommend selling the pokéballs you have on you." Prof. Oak advised.
"Okay, I'll do my best." Barry said.
"Wait, I almost forgot."
Barry waited for it, what was the man doing?
"Since I already have three of you I realized that something, if each of you catch all of Kanto's pokémon you wouldn't have any time to prepare for the league. To prevent that I decided to give you guys certain pokémon to catch to fill the 150 pokémon count."
Barry couldn't help but smile at those words, he no longer had to worry about catching pokémon left and right and left.
"I'll send you the list that you're going to catch via your pokédex and make sure you call me when you reach Pewter city, until then stay safe." Professor Oak ended the call leaving Barry tumbling in his thoughts.
After he ended the call Barry walked towards a machine he believed to be the device he would use to send the pokémon to Prof. Oak. These days he was always thankful that he attended Professor Oak's classes.
He brought out the captured pokémon and put them into the machine before turning it on, the pokéballs floated in the air as they were enveloped in a light green light that resembled a UFO sucking people into it.
The pokéballs subtly vanished leaving him perplexed at the technology.
He went down from the second floor to the first before paying the 430 poké and going into the rooms, the pokémon center wasn't as big as a skyscraper but it was big regardless.
Barry went into the room he had been assigned to and fell onto the bed, he lazily brought out the pokéballs and released Nidoran and Pidgey.
"I'll rest for a bit, when I'm ready we'll work on meditation." Barry said before he laid face-down on the bed.
Though it was only 2 days ago he left Pallet Town his back was already stiff because he moved from a five star hotel to the ground.
He almost fell asleep, wandering between the land of dream and the real world. And he would have if not for the fact that he felt something wandering around his hair and disarranging it.
"Leave me alone." Barry said while patting his head.
He felt something on his hand, instinctively he bolted upright before shaking his head.
He saw that Pidgey was trying to adjust the current situation more to her liking, she was trying to turn his head into a nest.
He shook his head for several seconds before she finally got up, Barry complained as he got out of the embrace of the bed and went to the mirror.
"Can this be classified as a hairstyle?" Barry asked himself looking at his disheveled hair.
A part of him wanted to visit a barber's shop but he ultimately stopped himself, Prof. Oak's advice echoed through his head like an open record.
"I can gather all the gym badges while looking like a homeless person." He said to himself but decided to buy a comb.
"Alright, we'll continue meditation." Barry said, his pokémon stared at him as he declared that.
After a while they were all in their meditative postures.
Barry tried once again to envision himself in a blank empty pitch, this time he was 0.001% more successful. But compared to his pokémon he was still far away from mastering meditation.
'I wonder if I as a human can master calm mind?" He said to himself.
"Focus, focus."
An hour later Barry was awoken to knocking on his door.
"Coming." He said as he opened his eyes.
'Strange.' He though.
For some reason his leg felt numb, it was probably because he wasn't used to that position and as a result his body couldn't circulate blood properly.
'I'll try to search for the solution.' Barry thought as he walked towards the door.
He opened the door after confirming what the person wanted, Barry's eyes met a man.
He found this weird because it was only supposed to be Nurse Joy working in the pokémon center, even though initially he heard a man's voice the appearance of the person in front of him made him skeptical.
He was wearing light-blue clothing, but his most distinguishable feature was his sleep-deprived eyes, his eyelids looked like they could close any second.
He was holding a tray that contained the food he had paid for.
Barry carried the tray from his hands, thanked the man and walked away before closing the door, the man looked like he could fall asleep at any second even while standing.
In the tray there was one plate that contained his food while the other 2 had his pokémon's food, the man could've done some better arrangements when delivering the food but looking at it from a neutral perspective Barry was glad that he didn't fall asleep while delivering it.
"Is it good?" Barry asked Pidgey, he knew Nidoran, the pokémon would anything presented to him.
Pidgey let out chirp in approval before diving back into the food.
While his pokémon had been given tasty food he was given only toast with a bit of butter in between it and tea. That man must have poor perception to mistake it to still be morning, he assumed the man ust have had too much sleepless nights and lost his sense of time.
Those thoughts made him shudder at the prospects of ever working at a pokémon center.
"Besides I still don't know which one I'm in." Barry said aloud, the pokémon eating didn't pay attention to him and allowed his seemingly senseless ramblings.
"I wonder what happened to Green."
When Barry stayed at Pallet town he discovered that there was a girl named Green that lived there but was taken away by a Pidgeot.
Then there was Ash, he didn't belong to any manga.
Red and Blue also existed and they had their own separate show called pokémon origins.
In short it was a hassle and he, the anomaly just came in and made this reality more confusing.
"I'll have to stick to the plan." Barry said to himself.
After he finished eating he kept the plates outside the room next to the door before turning in.
His mind wandered before the embrace of the night took him.
