章 13: sorting ceremony
The train stopped at Hogsmeade. All wizards got out of the train and are using the magi phone. They're taking selfies, playing games and all. Until a big hagrid appeared, and said," First years follow me. Follow me quickly come on. Hello harry".
Hagrid pointed the lamp light at Harry while Harry smiled and said," Hello hagrid ", Ron on the side exclaimed as he looked at the massive form of hagrid. Hagrid didn't see Kevin before so he don't know.
He let them all follow him and they moved through the muddy grounds while Kevin who feared he will fell down in the mud took out his wand and activated lumos. Lumos brightened their path as Harry and Ron followed behind Kevin carefully. Others who have magi phone took it out and switched on the torch it. They just need to inject magic and the phone will actiavte the magic bulb inside the phone.
Few girls fell down and wanted to complain as hagrid is moving too fast and when they moved briskly to catch they fell down. Hagrid looked at them and said," Can't even walk this small distance, kids these days don't have any stamina".
All looked hagrid speechless. Kevin looked at hagrid and wanted to say, see your size and our first before speaking. But he didn't say a word. As hagrid moved through the way and arrived at the pier many are already wearing dirty robes.
Kevin looked at Harry and Ron who are also wearing dirty robes and sighed. He pointed his wand at them and gently waved while their robes got cleaned. The two flinched for a second before looking at him gratefully.
Kevin boarded a boat with Harry, Ron and another guy named Dean Thomas or something. He felt nostalgic while the usual hagrid roar sounded," Get down ", all got down while Kevin sighed.
Hagrid still don't understand that with their height even if they stood up they need yo stretch their arm to touch the roof of the cave. Hagrid is very tall so he will touch it even if he sat down, but not them.
Kevin just sit still while the entrance did it's job that is placing a trace on them. Yes this is place where first years are imprinted with a trace. Second trace will be imprinted the moment they sign the documents during holidays.
Kevin looked at the castle of hogwarts and sighed. He took out his magi phone and clicked a few photos. They arrived at the opposite pier and followed hagrid. They arrived at the castle while hagrid knocked on the door with his big fists.
The door opened and they got in. What greeted them are ghosts flying around. One particular ghost caught his attention. Helena Ravenclaw, the grey lady of Ravenclaw house and the daughter of Rowena. She also looked at him, it's more precise to say you're at his mark.
The ghosts passed through some students and scared them while Kevin rolled his eyes. Some things never change. After the encounter with ghosts they arrived at the stairs and saw McGonagall.
Hagrid said to McGonagall," Professor McGonagall, the first years", McGonagall put on a smile and said," Thank you hagrid", hagrid walked away while McGonagall said," Welcome to Hogwarts. In Hogwarts we have a tradition to sort you into your houses. Hogwarts has four houses. Griffyndoor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin ".
Draco nodded at his companions while McGonagall continued," In your stay at Hogwarts your house is like your family. Your good behavior and diligence will be rewarded with points while your mishaps and rule breaking will deduct them. At the end of the year the house with most point will be rewarded with the house cup-", McGonagall words are interrupted by Neville's shout," Trevor".
He moved forward and caught his frog while the students around laughed. McGonagall gave a stern face while he apologized and gone back into the crowd," In a few moments the sorting ceremony will begin. So you better tidy up yourselves ".
She looked at Harry and Ron with stern expressions as Harry's hair is messed up and Ron has dirt on his nose. She looked at Kevin for a second and gone back for arrangements.
