Chi Yu vaguely sensed that Tao Jing's sudden appearance in the public eye was an odd occurrence, one that seemed rather suspicious. Yet, if asked to pinpoint the exact issue, she couldn't quite articulate it.

While Chi Yu locked herself away in her room, pondering this matter, Qiao Yu knocked on her bedroom door. 

The mother and daughter, since the events of that night, had been uneasy around each other. While things hadn't reached the point of a cold war, the awkwardness in the air was palpable, making the atmosphere uncomfortable.

Chi Yu had already decided that tomorrow, she would find a moment to have an open conversation with Qiao Yu. However, Qiao Yu beat her to it. 

Qiao Yu entered with a seemingly carefree tone, reminding Chi Yu, "Didn't you mention the other day that you'd like your boyfriend to come over for dinner? How about tomorrow night?"
