"I know, I know. You think I am insane... But, it's something I have to do." She drooped a bit. She had been carrying around this worry for so long. She was afraid of all the problems she caused her dad.

She wanted to share some of his burdens and deal with the problems that arose because of her.

"If it's something my lady has to do, then I am at her service."

Adeline smiled at him. She felt relieved. She could finally share her plans with someone instead of bottling up her worries.

Adeline leaned closer and made sure her voice was quiet, "I am here to expose the Duke. He has an illegitimate son, the Duchess is barren. He hopes to get the Duchess to adopt his son without her knowing the child is his."

Dimitri frowned. He understood that what was happening was bad, but why was Adeline doing this all alone and by herself? How did she even come across this secret in the first place?
