At daybreak, Ethan, who had finished looting the Slytherin Chamber, returned to the bathroom.
After reciting a spell in Parseltongue to restore the bathroom to its original state, Ethan lifted the Transfiguration Curse, and the mouse turned back into a stone.
Finally, he cast an Invisibility Charm and returned quietly to the Ravenclaw dormitory.
Lying on the bed, Ethan looked at the panel.
Just now, in the hidden little room of Slytherin, he had completed an achievement.
[The Mystery of the Millennium — Slytherin]
Ambition and wisdom converge here, and the light of glory never ends.
As cunning as a snake and as agile as a fox, the pursuit of power never hesitates, and the road to glory is sonorous.
In order to achieve the goal, he never hesitates.
The belief in identity burns in his heart, and the road to dreams never deviates.
Achievement goal: Successfully reach the Slytherin Chamber (1/1)
Achievement reward: Random ancient potion formula
Ethan did not expect that the chamber, which had been looted by Voldemort, could still offer rewards.
If he had thought of it earlier, Ethan would have rushed in when the first-years learned Parseltongue.
The lottery result was not bad. It was worthy of being an ancient potion. The effect was simple and crude, similar to ancient magic.
The Potion of Magic Blood was the ancient potion formula he got.
It could integrate the blood of magical animals into the body of wizards, allowing wizards to gain some of the animals' abilities, along with a stronger physique, more powerful magic, and enhanced vitality.
It could be described as an all-around improvement.
The effect was much greater than Bruno's magic enhancement potion. This fundamentally changed the qualifications of a wizard.
Before learning about this potion, Ethan had been fine. But now that he knew about it, he began to wonder if many wizards carried magical animal blood.
Among them, the Dumbledore family was particularly suspicious.
They very likely have some phoenix blood, passed down through generations.
Otherwise, how could the phoenix appear whenever their family needed it?
Moreover, the strength of several family members was remarkable, especially Albus Dumbledore.
Aberforth Dumbledore was able to intervene in the battle between his brother and Grindelwald, whether in his youth or middle age, which speaks to his strength.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald were extremely powerful at the time. It was widely accepted in the wizarding world that no one except Dumbledore could stop Grindelwald. Any other wizard would be defeated instantly.
Aberforth's ability to interfere in their duel showed that, even if his power wasn't on par with theirs, the gap wasn't too wide.
Ariana Dumbledore's magic went out of control after three Muggle boys did excessive things to her, eventually turning her into an Obscurial.
Ordinary Obscurials don't live beyond the age of ten, yet Ariana lived until fourteen, and she died during the fight between her brothers and Grindelwald.
It's unclear who accidentally hurt her during the fight, causing her death—not due to the Obscurial's condition.
Ariana wasn't an isolated case.
Credence, Aberforth's son, was also an Obscurial and lived to adulthood without any guidance or help.
Two family members, both Obscurials, surviving past ten breaks the rule. Can it be just coincidence?
There must be something unique about their bloodline. If it's the bloodline of the phoenix, that would explain their strong vitality and magic.
Beyond the Dumbledore family, there are others with magical animal traits.
Grindelwald's prophecy ability comes from the Thestral. In "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," it's confirmed that Thestrals can foresee the future.
As for Trelawney, her ability to predict is likely flawed, working sporadically.
Nymphadora Tonks's Metamorphmagus ability may also be an awakened ancestral trait, perhaps from the Kelpie or Boggart, both of which can shape-shift.
Queenie and Luna were born with Legilimency. While others struggle to learn it, they are natural masters of the craft. This could be the influence of the Wampus Cat.
The Wampus Cat's eyes were known to have the power of hypnosis and leglimency, and it is known for its agility and strength. It's undoubtedly a valuable bloodline.
These examples are just the ones we know of, and who knows how many remain unknown?
Some magical animals, while not extraordinary in abilities, simply have robust bodies and strong magical reserves, which are not always apparent.
Now, with the formula for the magic blood potion, Ethan is among a small group.
According to his knowledge, the brewing time for the potion is three months, which is shorter than the time required for Felix Felicis or Purification Potion.
The main ingredient is magical animal blood, and a substantial amount is needed, to be added weekly.
The added blood must come from the magical animals whose abilities are desired.
Additionally, the number of potion ingredients required is large.
The eggs of the Runespoor, a XXXX-class magical creature, enhance brain activity and are highly valued in potion-making.
Powder from the horns of the Erumpent, also a rare XXXX-class magical beast, is equally important.
Killing Grindelwald also led to the near extinction of the Erumpents. The last pair with reproductive ability is now housed in Newt's suitcase, nearing extinction.
Acquiring the rest will be difficult.
Other ingredients can be bought in Diagon Alley or Knockturn Alley, depending on how much gold one has.
Augurey feathers, horns of mythical beasts, syrup of heartworms, essence of hemlock, fairy wings, Lethe River water—these are the common ones.
Horn powder from Erumpents is rare, but that doesn't mean pure-blood families don't possess it. Families like the Malfoys or the Blacks certainly collect rare items.
Didn't Lucius say he could help Draco if necessary? Getting the horn powder shouldn't be a problem.
Although Runespoor eggs are rare, Dennis and his connections to pure-blood families will eventually obtain them. It's just a matter of time.
The materials are not Ethan's main concern now.
What remains is choosing the magical animal. Ethan has access to a Hebridean Black, a Fire Dragon, and a Basilisk, all XXXXX-class creatures.
Other magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest could also serve his needs, or he could buy them. Ethan just needs to decide carefully.
Creatures below XXXX are not considered; though they have good abilities, they are not quite up to the mark.
Among them, Ethan's favorite is the phoenix, for its rebirth, fire control, vitality, and ability to Apparate without restriction.
But it's not realistic to draw blood from a phoenix weekly. Its small body wouldn't handle it and might need a premature rebirth, which Dumbledore wouldn't allow.
Few choices remain—Basilisk, Fire Dragon, Wampus Cat, Thunderbird—all could significantly enhance his power.
After some thought, Ethan chose the Fire Dragon. Though its utility is slightly less, its physique, magic resistance, and magical strength are unmatched among XXXXX-class creatures.
But for now, Ethan decided to get some rest. It was Sunday, and there were no classes today.
In the afternoon, after entrusting Draco to help get the erumpent horn Ethan returned to the Ravenclaw common room.
He called Penelope, Cho Chang, and Luna to an empty dormitory.
Since this achievement is [Millennium Mystery — Slytherin], there must also be Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, etc. Otherwise, there would be no need to mark Slytherin specifically.
But where are the remaining three secret chambers?
This reward is very attractive. If there's a chance to obtain it, Ethan naturally wouldn't let it slip away.
"I've never heard of Ravenclaw having a secret chamber," Penelope said to Ethan, shaking her head.
She was quite surprised to learn that Ethan had just gone to Slytherin's secret chamber and taken the basilisk. But she didn't ask how he found it or how he could speak Parseltongue.
Slytherin's secret chamber is a legend at Hogwarts, but there's no real news about Ravenclaw having a secret chamber.
Luna's ethereal voice sounded in Ethan's ears. "Ethan, based on what you said, it takes three Parseltongue passwords to open Slytherin's secret chamber, which means it was something Slytherin left for himself or his descendants. Wouldn't Ravenclaw's be the same? I've never heard of any Ravenclaw descendants."
Ethan thought for a moment and decided to explain. He had already revealed enough. "Ms. Ravenclaw's daughter is Ms. Grey, the ghost of our school. She stole Ravenclaw's diadem and left Hogwarts. Ms. Ravenclaw was gravely ill and asked the ghost, the Bloody Baron, to bring her daughter back. She hid the theft, and no one knew the diadem was stolen. Unfortunately, before the two met, Ms. Ravenclaw died of grief and illness."
Luna thought for a moment and then slowly said, "Maybe the secret chamber was left for Ms. Grey. Unfortunately, Ms. Grey became a ghost, leaving no descendants. So, the person who earns her recognition might retrieve the diadem stolen by Ms. Grey and open Ravenclaw's secret chamber, right?"
People are selfish, and the best things are left to those they care about most. Ravenclaw clearly didn't hate her daughter; she was simply heartbroken that her daughter didn't understand her. When she was seriously ill, whatever she left behind must have been for her daughter or descendants, and the key to open it would be a family heirloom.
"So we have to find Ravenclaw's diadem through Ms. Grey?" Cho Chang asked in disbelief.
Ms. Grey is very proud and doesn't interact with students the way the ghosts of other houses do. She prefers to be alone and is difficult to approach. It would be hard to get any information about the diadem from her!
"No, I've already found Ravenclaw's diadem!" Ethan's words grabbed the attention of the three girls.
It was one thing for Ethan to know so many secrets, but to have found Ravenclaw's diadem that had been missing for a thousand years? That was a bit much! Then, they thought of a possibility.
As Ravenclaw's daughter, Ms. Grey had been at Hogwarts for nearly a thousand years. It wouldn't be surprising if she knew more. Could Ethan and Ms. Grey…?
They'd heard stories like that from Cho, passed down from China, so it wasn't impossible.
"I found it by chance, in the Room of Requirement," Ethan quickly explained, seeing the increasingly strange looks from the others.
"If you have Ravenclaw's diadem, you could try placing it on the statue in the common room. There's a bust of Ms. Ravenclaw at my house, and a portrait of her in the common room, both wearing diadems. But the statue in the common room doesn't wear one."
"Maybe the diadem needs to be placed on the statue as a key to unlock the entrance to the secret chamber," Luna suggested, her slightly protruding eyes staring at Ethan. "Tonight, when everyone has left, you can give it a try!"
Even though the diadem had been turned into a Horcrux, Ethan wasn't sure if it would still function as a key. He hadn't dared to put it on his head.
