章 17: Chapter 16: Beat Him until His Mother Can't Recognize Him!
Lin Feng, under the dim streetlight, assessed the few men before him, four in total, ranging in age from eighteen or nineteen to about twenty-two or three years old, all wearing tight T-shirts. The leader was Bald Head, and behind him stood three others—two with buzz cuts and one with braided hair; outrageously, one of the buzz-cut guys even wore sunglasses at night!
"Damn! They're really trying too hard to look tough!" Lin Feng muttered quietly and then addressed Bald Head, "I am Lin Feng! Who are you guys, and what do you want with me?"
It was clear these guys were up to no good. Given the time and the secluded location they had stopped him, it was likely they were looking for trouble. But Lin Feng wondered, he always kept to himself, going to work and then home, who had he offended? Why were they targeting him?
However, Lin Feng wasn't afraid!
Having grown up in the Northeast, Lin Feng was no stranger to fighting, having been involved in many brawls, both getting ganged up on and doing the ganging up; and as for one-on-one fights—they were as common to him as dinner. In short, he didn't care!
Furthermore, Lin Feng had progressed to the mid Human Level in his cultivation. Even if one or two SWAT officers came at him, they likely couldn't harm him, let alone a bunch of petty thugs.
"You're looking for me because you've got business?" Bald Head spat out a puff of smoke, looked at Lin Feng with a sneer, and said, "I hear you're a doctor? If you'd just stuck to your job at the Second Hospital, all would have been fine, but you shouldn't have stuck your nose where it doesn't belong!"
"That's right! Do you know what happens to meddlers? Fuck! You're asking for a beating, aren't you!" the guy with sunglasses exclaimed.
"Dammit! Who asked for your opinion! Do you fucking respect me as your boss or not?" Bald Head exploded angrily, scolding him.
"Sorry, boss, my bad!" the thug with the sunglasses broke out into a cold sweat, well aware of his boss's brutality, not to mention that his boss had an even more formidable and fierce brother!
"If you dare interrupt me again, I'll break your damn legs! Walking around with sunglasses at night, you're just showing off!" Bald Head said, curling his lip.
"Yes, boss, my mistake! I'll never wear sunglasses again!" the guy with the sunglasses said, as he took off the sunglasses and casually threw them to the ground. Then, having second thoughts—those sunglasses were worth several hundred yuan—he stealthily picked them back up when Bald Head was looking elsewhere.
Bald Head didn't pay him any more attention, instead turning back to Lin Feng, "We had no beef with you, but you've offended someone you shouldn't have! Today, we'll teach you a lesson so you'll remember! Next time, don't fucking step out of line. Just go be a good little doctor!"
"Who sent you after me?" Lin Feng asked, with a slight smile at the corner of his mouth, yet a hint of coldness flickered in his eyes.
"Don't you have a clue whom you've offended? Why ask me? Let me tell you, kid! We're professionals. We don't just disclose client information. Nowadays, everybody talks about professional ethics, and we are no exception!" Bald Head said, feigning a professional demeanor, as the three thugs behind him voiced their agreement.
"If you refuse to talk, then there's nothing to be done but to beat it out of you!" The smile on Lin Feng's face vanished instantly!
Someone was out to harm him, and he definitely needed to know who it was!
"Damn! You're getting cocky! Beat us into talking? Who do you think you are, Jackie Chan or Jet Li? Boys, get him! Beat him till even his mother won't recognize him!" Bald Head ordered angrily, tossing away his half-finished cigarette and gesturing to his followers with a ferocious command.
The three thugs behind him charged at Lin Feng with a shout when they heard their boss speak!
If this were the past, though Lin Feng wouldn't fear them, facing four alone would definitely put him at a disadvantage, but Lin Feng was no longer the man he used to be!
Suddenly, Lin Feng lunged forward towards the man with the sunglasses (previously wearing them, now already taken off—for clarity, it's written this way; please don't mind) and threw a punch straight at the thug's nose!
Lin Feng was incredibly fast, and before the guy could even react, Lin Feng's fist had already landed squarely on his nose!
With a "bang!"
The thug heard a "crack" followed by a warm sensation, as blood began to flow down from his nose!
"Ouch!" The thug with sunglasses instinctively reached for his nose and suddenly discovered that the bridge of his nose was actually broken!
But the situation was far from over!
Right after the thug with sunglasses took a punch to the nose, Lin Feng raised his leg and kicked toward his groin!
"Bang" was the impact!
The thug with sunglasses was instantly sent flying four or five meters away! Then he fell to the ground, moaning nonstop, but he was unable to get up again!
The other two thugs who had rushed in didn't expect their opponent to be so tough, and they were startled subconsciously!
Not just them, even Lin Feng hadn't anticipated that his speed and strength had improved so much!
However, Lin Feng didn't have time to feel happy about it. After kicking away the thug with sunglasses, he charged toward the long-haired thug to his right!
The long-haired thug had been stunned by Lin Feng's lightning fast moves and stood frozen in place as Lin Feng approached, not knowing how to dodge!
But even if he wanted to dodge, he simply couldn't escape!
Lin Feng's speed could now be compared to that of a world champion sprinter in a hundred-meter dash!
"Bang!"
"Ouch!"
A shadow was seen flying through the air, then landing next to the thug with sunglasses. The long-haired thug also took a kick to the groin and fell to the ground, unable to get up for quite a while.
Having grown up fighting, Lin Feng naturally knew which spots to hit for maximum damage to his opponents. Plus, being a medical student, it was easy for Lin Feng to knock down an enemy without inflicting too much harm on them.
Seeing this, the remaining thug with a crew cut felt a chill in his heart, but when you're part of the street life, you're bound to take some hits. Besides, their boss was watching from behind, so even if they couldn't win, they had to toughen up and fight!
"Ah!" The crew cut thug let out a shout and charged at Lin Feng!
Lin Feng sneered and said, "It's fine to value loyalty when you're out here, but you're just plain dumb to not use your brain!"
Lin Feng sidestepped and avoided the crew cut thug's charge, then extended his left foot and tripped him. At the same time, he reached down with both hands, grabbed the thug's shoulders and, using his momentum, flung him forward with force!
"Thud!"
The crew cut thug was suddenly thrown five or six meters away, landing face-first in a "faceplant" position, his face immediately scraped up, his nose bleeding profusely, as he kept yelling, "Ouch."
Lin Feng casually dusted off his hands, then turned around and walked toward Bald Head. As he drew near Bald Head, a slightly evil smile appeared on the corners of Lin Feng's mouth.
"Damn it! What's wrong with you guys? Get up right now!" Bald Head had just taken out a new cigarette, lit it up, and suddenly noticed that all three of his subordinates had been knocked down by this youngster in front of him, a hint of fear rising in his heart!
