Grandma Nari was beside Ariel in the blink of an eye and gently patted her back.
"It's alright, honey, you don't have to be shy. Your husband is right; maybe, it's time I return to my own husband. I've disturbed you newlyweds enough," Grandma Nari explained quietly.
Ariel forced down another cough that wanted to come up her throat and calmly smiled at Grandma Nari. The old woman was even making her more uncomfortable.
But she had to be composed.
"It's alright, Grandma, you can just keep living with us, Aiden didn't mean those things he said, he-"
"I meant every word I said, sweetheart, and you know it," Aiden reaffirmed in a solid tone, locking his gaze on Ariel's face.
Ariel was staring widely at Aiden. She wished she could just disappear, or curse Aiden, but Grandma Nari was there; she couldn't.
She gave a little awkward laugh and nodded, "Yes, Grandma, guess I was just shy," She cleared her throat and sipped her water again.
