章 13: Chapter 13
Teresa slowly opened her eyes, vaguely seeing the scene in front of her. A white wall with light blue curtains. Her eyes were fully open now; she was inside the school's infirmary.
"You're awake," the nurse on duty approached Teresa and brought her a warm cup of tea.
"Drink this, it'll make you feel better."
Teresa took it and sipped the tea before placing it on the table beside the infirmary bed.
"You were on your period earlier, your friend already helped change it for you."
"Huh?" Teresa was shocked and instinctively touched her lower abdomen, feeling the sanitary pad there. "Who changed it, ma'am?" Teresa asked.
"Your friend, a girl with long hair, fair skin, and she's very pretty."
"Yova?"
The nurse left Teresa, instructing her to rest. She was given two options: to go home or return to class once she felt better. Teresa chose to go back to class after she felt better.
The recess bell rang, and Teresa could hear it from the room. She intended to return to class but suddenly, the curtain opened, and she saw Yova.
"You're awake," Yova said, her face showing concern.
Teresa smiled and thanked Yova.
"You should be thanking ___"
"TERESA!" Gabril burst in with a worried face, rushing toward her. "Are you okay? Why did you faint earlier? Do you need to go to the hospital?" he asked, bombarding her with questions.
"I'm okay," Teresa answered weakly.
Gabril had brought bread for her and handed it to her. "Thank goodness. Here, this is for you."
"Thanks," Teresa replied in a tired tone.
She took the bread, stood up, and invited Yova to return to their class.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Yova asked.
Teresa nodded, then stood and walked out, followed by Yova and Gabril. Teresa then turned to face Gabril.
"You can go back to your class, thanks," Teresa said.
"Oh, okay, I'll go then," Gabril said, looking a bit awkward but following Teresa's suggestion. "Don't forget to come to the Olympic room later," he said before turning and leaving the two of them.
"Why did you dismiss him like that? Poor Gabril," Yova commented to Teresa.
Teresa didn't answer and continued walking towards their class, sitting at her desk.
"Here, you can have this. I don't like bread," Teresa said, offering the bread to Yova.
"Are you serious?" Yova asked.
Teresa glanced over at Kenzo with a weary look, then laid her head on the table while observing him as he was busy with a book in his hand.
"Teresa, you don't want to eat? You look weak," Yova asked.
Teresa shook her head, not feeling hungry at all, and smiled as she watched Kenzo.
"No, you have to eat," Yova insisted, pulling Teresa closer and opening a lunch box filled with fruit that Yova had brought from home. She speared a piece of melon with a fork and offered it to Teresa. "Here, eat this."
"You need to think later, so you have to eat a lot."
"O-okay," Teresa struggled with the pieces of fruit Yova kept feeding her.
"KENZO!"
Teresa turned towards the source of the voice calling Kenzo's name. She saw a girl enter the classroom and approach Kenzo. Teresa stared at them seriously, watching them both.
"Isn't she also in the Olympic group?" Teresa asked, suddenly realizing the girl was also part of Kenzo's study group.
"Her name's Bianca, from Science Class 2. She's smart and popular too," Yova replied.
Teresa watched them closely. They seemed to be chatting, and although Kenzo seemed indifferent, he was still responding.

Teresa walked alone towards the Olympic room, carrying her iPad and some books. The corridors were empty because the students at that school were very disciplined.
Teresa deliberately didn't wait for Kenzo because she was upset seeing him with another girl.
"Why am I so upset? Do I really like him?" she muttered to herself, pouting as she walked towards the Olympic room.
"Are you okay?" someone suddenly asked, walking beside Teresa.
Teresa turned her head to the right and looked up, seeing the face of the person speaking to her. "Huh, Kenzo?" She stopped, surprised. Kenzo also stopped, looking at her with a confused expression.
"Are you talking to me?" Teresa asked, still in disbelief.
"What do you think?" Kenzo turned his body and continued walking.
Teresa pinched her own cheek and slapped it. "I'm not dreaming," she said, looking back at Kenzo before running to catch up with him.
"I'm fine," she finally answered.
Kenzo didn't respond and walked into the room. Inside, several groups had already formed. Teresa headed straight to her group, glancing at Kenzo, who was sitting beside Bianca.
"Here, Tere, we've gotten this far. You can work on this part," Gabril said.
Teresa was too focused on Kenzo and didn't realize Gabril was talking to her.
"Teresa," Gabril called again.
"H-huh? Yeah, what?" Teresa asked.
"You can work on this part," Gabril said, smiling.
"Okay, okay," Teresa took the paper and started working on it. Occasionally, she stole glances at Kenzo, who was surrounded by girls.
"Teresa, we still don't understand this. Can you help us?" Joan and Amel asked, showing Teresa the paper they were struggling with. Teresa quickly solved it for them.
"Done," Teresa said, putting down her pencil and looking around, seeing that her other friends were still busy working on the problems.
Teresa sat quietly, staring at Kenzo as he scribbled on the papers with his pencil. He looked so cool and charming.
Ding!
The Olympic study time was over. Before they left the classroom, there would be an evaluation of the previous day's work. The teacher stood up and announced the results of the evaluation.
"For yesterday's evaluation, the math group excelled with a score of 100.00. Keep it up!" And then continued.
"Yesss!" The four of them high-fived each other.
Teresa and her group smiled happily, knowing they had achieved the highest score among the others.
They all started leaving the room. The teacher held back Teresa and Kenzo from leaving. "Teresa, Kenzo, come here for a moment."
Teresa and Kenzo approached the teacher.
"So far, you two have been the top performers. I hope you can help the others so we can achieve even more victories than last year. Especially you, Teresa, you excel in all subjects, so please assist the other groups," the teacher said to Teresa and Kenzo.
"Yes, sir," Teresa replied.
The two of them left the room and walked side by side. As usual, Teresa kept stealing glances at Kenzo.
"You," Kenzo suddenly turned to Teresa. Teresa looked at him as she walked.
"Watch out!" Kenzo pulled Teresa's arm as she nearly bumped into a trash can.
"Phew, that was close," Teresa said, looking at the trash can, then turning back to Kenzo.
"What is it?" Teresa asked.
Kenzo stared at Teresa but then looked away. "Never mind," he said, and continued walking.
...
"I'll wait for you on the roof," class time ended, and suddenly Dona and her gang entered Teresa's classroom and confronted her.
"No, I'm busy," Teresa replied.
Teresa slung her bag over her shoulder and started to leave her desk. Dona grabbed Teresa's arm forcefully, causing her to fall to the floor.
"Owwww!"
"TERESA!" Yova shouted, rushing to help Teresa.
"How dare you!" Dona's fist was clenched, ready to punch Teresa, but suddenly someone grabbed her hand.
"STOP!"
"GABRIL!" Dona exclaimed as she saw Gabril holding her hand to prevent her from hitting Teresa.
Teresa stood up and left the classroom. She saw that the area outside her classroom was already crowded with students watching the scene.
"TERESA!" Gabril called, releasing Dona's hand and running out.
"WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING HERE? GET LOST!" Yova shouted angrily, annoyed that her classroom had become a spectacle.
"TERESA!" Yova chased after Teresa. She saw Dona's gang also coming out, chasing after Teresa.
Teresa ran out quickly, and suddenly someone grabbed her arm while she was running.
"Come with me."
