章 9: Chapter 9

"Gabriel, stop in front," Teresa instructed Gabriel to stop the car right in front of their complex gate. He seemed puzzled as to why Teresa asked him to stop the car.

Teresa opened the door and got out of the car. "I'll get off here, thanks," Teresa said.

Gabriel also got out and approached Teresa, who was walking towards their complex. He reached for Teresa's hand from behind.

"Why not just go together?" he asked.

Teresa looked at Gabriel's hand holding hers. Gabriel let go of her hand.

"Sorry, Sir, I don't want to cause any trouble with Madam and the master," Teresa replied.

"Don't worry, it's fine. I'm here with you."

"Sorry, Sir, but I'll walk from here. It's close anyway," Teresa smiled, then turned and walked away from Gabriel.

As usual, she greeted the security guard at the entrance.

"Who's dropping you off, Miss?" he asked Teresa.

Teresa just smiled and continued walking toward her house. As she walked, she heard the sound of a car and glanced back to see that Gabriel's car was following her slowly. Teresa gestured for Gabriel to go ahead, but he insisted on staying behind.

Teresa felt uneasy; she was afraid of being caught by her employer. After all, Gabriel was her employer, and she had to respect him. She couldn't act casually around Gabriel.

Teresa entered the large house through the small door beside the main gate. She greeted Mr. Singgih, who was stationed at the gate of the house.

"Good evening, Sir," Teresa greeted him and then walked inside. She glanced back and saw Gabriel's car entering the house, then turned her gaze away.

As she was about to enter, Teresa was stopped by Kenzo's jacket, still hanging on the drying rack in front of her house. She ran over to the jacket and held it.

"It's dry," she said happily and brought the jacket inside the house. Teresa took off her shoes and looked for a paper bag inside the house. Before returning it, she took a photo of the jacket and wore it.

"Wow, this will be a nice memory," Teresa said, putting the jacket into the paper bag and placing it on her study desk.

"Teresa, hurry up and change your clothes to help Mom."

"Yes, Mom," Teresa replied with a big smile on her face.

Teresa changed her clothes and walked to the main house to help her mother prepare food for her employer at that time.

Teresa brought the food to the large dining table. She arranged the plates and utensils in the correct order on the dining table.

Teresa turned around after finishing her task.

"Oh!" Teresa was startled to see Gabriel behind her. "Young Master," Teresa greeted him with a bow and then left the room.

"Wait," Gabriel grabbed Teresa's hand.

"Gabriel, dear..."

He released Teresa's hand when she heard someone calling Gabriel.

Teresa walked back to the kitchen, seeing Gabriel approached by his mother.

"Teresa, bring this and pour it after everyone is seated."

Teresa nodded, waiting for the family to gather. It turned out there was a family gathering at the house that day.

"Come on, Teresa," her mother urged.

Teresa carefully carried the teapot and walked around the table, pouring drinks into each glass. Finally, Teresa stopped in front of Gabriel and poured the drink into his glass.

"Thank you," Gabriel said.

"Thank you?" Gabriel's uncle asked when Gabriel thanked Teresa. "Why would you thank her? She's just doing her job."

For some reason, Teresa felt hurt hearing that, but she couldn't deny that what he said was true.

"It's a way to appreciate someone's work, Uncle," Gabriel replied.

After finishing everything, Teresa hurried back to the kitchen. She saw the whole family enjoying their meal and chatting.

"Teresa, go wash the clothes now."

"Yes, Mom," Teresa said, leaving through the back door and returning to her own house.

...

It was already 9 PM, and Teresa had just finished hanging her clothes to dry. She brought the bucket back to the bathroom, then walked to her study desk to do her school assignments for the next day.

Ding

A message arrived on Teresa's phone; it was from Yova.

Yova: Tere, help me out. I can't figure this out.

Yova sent a picture of their homework problem. Teresa looked at the problem, tried to solve it, and then sent the answer to Yova.

Teresa heard the door open. Her mother had returned, carrying a plate of leftover cake from the main house.

"Teresa, look what I brought," her mother said, walking toward Teresa and placing the cake on her study desk.

"Mom, you should go to bed. I still have to finish my assignments," Teresa told her mother.

Teresa watched as her mother lay down, then returned to her tasks. Her eyes focused on the paper in front of her, but she accidentally glanced at the cake her mother had brought. Her heart ached, seeing the cake. Though it looked tempting, it was still leftover cake. Teresa shed a tear, realizing how sad her life was.

Tok tok tok

Teresa heard a knock on the door of their small house. She wiped her tears and walked to the front, opening the door.

"Young Master," Teresa saw Gabriel standing outside.

"What are you doing here?" Teresa asked, quickly closing the door and looking around to make sure no one saw Gabriel there.

"Come with me," he said.

Teresa followed him out of the house. Gabriel seemed to be talking to Mr. Singgih.

"Good evening, Sir," Teresa greeted him and then followed Gabriel outside.

They walked together through the quiet streets of the complex that night. The street was deserted, with only the streetlights keeping them соmраnу.

"Where are we going. Sir?" Teresa asked.

"Just call me Gabriel," he reminded Teresa again. "We're not at the house now." Gabriel glanced at Teresa and pulled her closer so she would walk beside him, not behind him.

Gabriel led Teresa out of the complex and to a supermarket in front of it. He bought two boxes of Milk and some snacks, then invited Teresa to sit outside the supermarket.

"Here."

"What are we doing here?" Teresa asked.

"Nothing much, just felt like it. The view is nice." Gabriel replied with a small laugh. He noticed Teresa seemed uneasy.

"Relax, Tere, I just want to chat with you for a bit," Gabriel said, handing her the straw for the milk.

"Y-yes," Teresa replied.

Gabriel smiled warmly at Teresa, gazing at the pretty girl.

"I want to get to know you better."

"Sorry, Gabriel, but we shouldn't get too close," Teresa replied. "I know we go to the same school, but our relationship is that of master and servant." Teresa was afraid that if she got too close to Gabriel, it would cause problems for her family.

Gabriel smiled. "Why, are you scared?"

Teresa nodded. She just didn't want anything unexpected to happen, and she was well aware that she was only the daughter of his servant.

"Don't worry, Teresa, you'll be fine, and we can be friends."

"Sorry, Sir," Teresa stood up and left Gabriel sitting there alone.

"Teresa, wait," Gabriel got up and chased after Teresa. He reached for her hand, trying to reassure her.

...

The next day...

Teresa deliberately left earlier, carrying a paper bag containing Kenzo's jacket and waiting for a public minivan in front of the housing complex.

While waiting, she saw Gabril's car exit the complex with its window rolled down. It looked like he wanted to greet Teresa, but she quickly waved down the approaching Minivan and got Inside. She noticed that Gabril seemed disappointed.

The Minivan Teresa was in stopped to pick up More passengers. She saw Reno get in and waved at him.

"Reno," Teresa greeted him. Reno then sat down next to Teresa.

"You're taking a minivan today?" Reno asked Teresa.

"I usually take one too."

"Weren't you with Gabril yesterday?"

"Oh, no, that was just a coincidence," Teresa replied.

The Minivan stopped right in front of their school. Teresa got out, assisted by Reno. They walked together into the school building..

"You're really quick to get along with people," Reno remarked.

"I adapt easily," Teresa replied.

"What about Yova?" Reno asked.

Teresa turned to Reno, not understanding what he Meant. "What about her? What do you mean?" she asked, confused.

"Is she okay, I mean?" Reno looked flustered and a bit awkward.

"Huh?" Teresa furrowed her brow, even more confused.

"Oh, I need to go to Mr. Dayu's room first. Reno suddenly said, then ran off, leaving Teresa behind.

"What's with him?" Teresa Muttered, then continued walking towards her class.

As she was enthusiastically heading to her class, she was suddenly confronted by Dona and her friends. Teresa rolled her eyes and glared at them.

"Move," Teresa demanded, trying to push past them, but they blocked her path.

"Come with us, one of the girls sald, forcibly. grabbing Teresa's arm. Teresa tried to resist and free herself, but she couldn't. Many people saw. Teresa being dragged away, but no one tried to stop it-they just watched.

Teresa was taken to the bathroom, where the girls threw her to the floor. Someone grabbed a hose and sprayed water at Teresa.

Teresa stood up, but one of them pushed her down again, causing her to slip and fall on the wet floor. They all laughed loudly at Teresa, who WGS now drenched.

"Hey, you little tramp, stop acting all pretty. How dare you try to get close to Kenzo and Gabril? You think you're so slick? one of them said whilegrabbing Teresa's cheek.Teresa swatted her hand away and punched Dong in the face.

"Owwww!"

Dona's face whipped to the side.

"Dona, Dona!"

At that moment, Teresa stormed out of the bathroom and saw people gathered outside. Teresa was furious at all of them. She walked through the crowd and left, still soaking wet.

"TERESA..."
