章 24: The big writing
Vathi goes to her parents and informs them that Dr. Andrews is calling them inside. Her parents go into the room.
Hamsa's full name is Hamsa Vathi Adah Devaraj.
Vathi goes to the cafeteria and orders her favorite hot chocolate and churros. She starts writing in the book.
Dr. Andrews and Dr. kanika discuss with Vathi's parents.
Dr.Kanika asks about the background of Vathi's parents.
Deva raj tells, " I'm a businessman. I graduated in Chemical engineering. My wife Francessca is a working woman earlier, until 2015, now she is a homemaker."
Dr. Andrews asks Vathi's father whether their marriage is arranged or love. As their names seem to be from different cultures.
Vathi's father said, " Our marriage is an arranged one. My father and Francessca's father were friends. My mother-in-law is from Italy. So, they named her Francessca Ruth Rawat."
Dr. Andrews asks Francessca, "How were Vathi's childhood and her studies?"
Francessca replies, " Vathi is our second child. We had one child before her but we lost the baby within one of his birth. Vathi is a studious girl. She was a topper in all the levels of her education. She had a good image in her school. Even the school science teacher wanted to adopt our girl.
Vathi is always a humble, polite, and calm girl.
Dr. Kanika asks, "What about her friends?"
Devaraj says, "Many of her schoolmates are her friends. Even her juniors and seniors came to our home often. Yet, she was close to three students in her school. She was almost a pet girl for her teachers. She was very close to them too.
But after her schooling, she missed school. We changed her to a state board college in eleventh grade. As her school has classes only up to tenth grade. She couldn't adapt to the state board. There was a change in the teaching style, exam pattern."
Francessca says, " Until her 10th grade all the teachers said that she is a bright student. From 11th grade to 12th grade, I'm almost fed up with all those parent-teacher meetings.
There was a change in the education system. Earlier in her old school, students have to prepare their essays and answer writing books, teachers teach them. Further, suggest and support in making notes.
In the new school, they give prepared question banks. Students have to learn it by heart. Vathi had a school background with more practicality. Her old school never pressure students to her high scores. But in the new school if a student scores 90/100 or less, then they call parents for a meeting.
Vathi was disturbed by this new education system. Later, in mid of her 12th grade, we took TC and she continued in the correspondence program. After her 10th she had very few friends until she got admission to Delhi University. She completed her graduation from there."
Dr. Andrews asks, " Do you both know about Shenoy and her relationship with him?"
Devaraj says, " Yes, we know about that rogue, Shenoy"
Dr. Kanika asks, "Mr. Devaraj, how did you know about this?"
Devaraj says, "I'm coming to know about their relationship from Francessca."
Dr. Andrews asks them, "Did Vathi tell you about him you?"
Francessca replied, "No, she didn't. I overheard her speaking to someone on the phone. I asked her. She lied it was her friend. But when I checked her phone, it was Shenoy. When I asked her again then she told me that Vinay is continuously texting her, asking her to marry him. So, she couldn't find a way.
She called Shenoy to speak with Vinay. She rejected Vinay's proposal. Yet, he was not accepting her decision.
Immediately we took her phone, blocked Vinay's phone number. As she has to write her PG exam. We didn't return her phone. Otherwise, she will be disturbed.
After two weeks I got a call on my phone. I asked Vathi to lift the phone as I was busy with work. She didn't lift and was panic. Later, I checked in the true caller, it was Shenoy!
I got a doubt about both of them. But I did not ask her. After, three days Vathi's father observed her laptop, where she saved a file naming "Shenoy". By the time we tried to open the file and read it, she locked her laptop. We don't know the password of her laptop.
We taught them that she might be typing her thesis on her laptop. She prepares e-notes and makes physical charts. We got a doubt that, why would she name the file Shenoy?
I spoke to her in privacy. Then she told me that she is in a relationship with Shenoy. She wants to marry him.
Even we found a lot of differences in behavior. She stopped eating for three days. She didn't sleep for one week. She had a fever, too. We took her to our family doctor at Village M.
Our Family Doctor suggested your Institute. As he felt that she is depressed and need a d medical counselor.
Dr. Kanika asks, "How did you both react when she told about her relationship?"
Devaraj says, "I slapped her. She is insane. Even her scolded."
