My heart raced as I felt a firm grip on my arm, yanking me out of harm's way just in the nick of time as a car rushed by me with incredible speed.

The sudden movement left me bewildered, my eyes widening in surprise. I stumbled back, only to find myself face-to-face with Del, a mixture of shock and gratitude etched across my features.

"Del?" I stammered, still processing the fact that he had just saved me from the oncoming vehicle. "How... What are you doing here?"

He met my gaze with a calm yet concerned expression, as if he had been expecting this moment. "I've been following you, Lilac," he admitted, his voice steady. "Ever since you left the Circle meeting in such a rush. You seemed disoriented, and I didn't want anything to happen to you."
