Love is pain for it steals your breath and then your heart.
ZINA
Zina stared up at the roof of her room, excitement coursing through her blood. She had never felt the way she was currently feeling in a very long time… or perhaps in forever.
It resembled happiness, and yet it wasn't entirely happiness. It felt like elation, and yet that description somewhat missed the mark. No, what she was currently feeling was something that scarily resembled fulfilment and completion. Like she had been wandering around lost, but now, she had finally found her home.
And she found said home in Daemon NorthSteed's steady promises and reassurance. So while she would have ordinarily prevented her heart from swelling up as it was currently doing so, she freely allowed the sensation to take over her.
Was this what it truly felt like to be accepted by someone? Was this what it felt like to not be an abandoned one any more?
