DAEMON
Of all the bold things Daemon expected Zina WolfKnight to do, sending a spy on him wasn't one of them. Although he figured out there was something far deeper in play, it still greatly amused him.
And angered him.
When everyone had been living their lives like Daemon's mother hadn't all but died mysteriously, Darmon had spent the better half of his life investigating it. He didn't believe in the grand notion of monsters, but he knew that werewolves were capable of devolving into one.
It was always the heart that caged the biggest and most fearsome monsters. Desires, greed, and more greed.
So as far as Daemon was concerned, what could have killed his mother and left a mark on him at his back might not just be an ordinary monster. It could be a werewolf who had decided to commit the highest depravity.
