章 180: The attackers

Ave watched in fear as he pulled out his sword from the side of the horse and faced the men surrounding them. Though it was dark, she could make out the shadows of the men and knew they were more than ten; they outnumbered him. How was he going to fight them alone when they didn't have any guards? She thought panic-stricken as she watched him cut down the first man to dare approach. And just like that, a fight broke out without them exchanging any words among each other.

Ave had seen scenes like this in movies, but she had never thought she'd be experiencing it in reality. It was more fun to watch the hero fight in movies, but it was terrifying to witness in reality, especially when you don't know how to help and are paralyzed by fear on a horse. She could hold a sword and turn it around in her hands, but fighting with it was another thing.
