I couldn't stop smiling when I saw how flustered my wife was. Finally, I knew that my feelings were being reciprocated. After a few moments, Xu Jiaxu speaks.

"The noble ladies have arrived!" he announces.

I look at the door and watch as Zhang Yihua, Yang Hua, and Weir Pei Rou enter the hall.

Pei Qin and Li Jin move on each side. The three ladies bow their heads while holding their fingers.

"Greetings, Your Highness!" they say in chorus.

"Raise your heads," my wife commands.

They look at her. Zhang Yihua's gaze landed on me. I didn't show any emotions.

"Welcome to the inner palace," Wu Jinmai says.

"Thank you, Your Highness," they say, bowing their heads again.

"Did you remember what is written on the verdicts that I sent in your family's residence?" she asks.

"Your Highness had requested us to be the household managers of your consorts," Zhang Yihua replied.
