Gin was amazed by Yosuke's display of power.

Ten days ago, Yosuke had been a struggling weakling, but now he had undergone a complete transformation in appearance and strength.

"Yosuke, what happened to you in these ten days? You seem so different now..."

Before, Yosuke had been a spirited but unremarkable youth. Now, he looked like a weathered man who had seen too much.

When asked about his experiences, Yosuke's face lit up with a confident smile as he replied, "Gin, I finally managed to start my journey successfully! It was a bit of a rough start, but overall, it turned out pretty well."

Gin listened attentively as Yosuke recounted his story, his expression growing increasingly strange as he realized what Yosuke considered a "pretty good start."

After parting ways with Gin, Yosuke headed to the town's tavern while Gin went to the adventurers' guild.

Unlike Gin, who had some initial strength and could hunt monsters for food, Yosuke had been starving in the forest for days. So, with the bag of copper coins Gin had given him, Yosuke's first thought was to fill his stomach.

Choosing the tavern made sense; in games, taverns were hubs for important gossip and information. Since they had just arrived in this world, gathering intelligence was crucial.

Thanks to Gin's advice, Yosuke had covered his face before entering the tavern. Though people were curious about his concealed appearance, they didn't question it too much.

Unfamiliar with the world's currency exchange rates and living costs, Yosuke thought the large bag of copper coins was a substantial fortune. He generously ordered a lavish meal, thinking that spending more would make the tavern owner more hospitable and willing to share information.

So far, Yosuke's actions and logic were sound. With his extensive gaming experience, he was quite satisfied with his initial handling of the situation.

The only flaw was that during his conversation with the tavern owner, Yosuke learned about the world's living costs. Realizing he didn't have enough money to pay for the feast, he tried to negotiate credit.

Running away wasn't an option; he had already experienced the combat prowess of the world's inhabitants. The tavern owner, while not an adventurer, was a burly man with arms thicker than Yosuke's thighs. Yosuke knew he couldn't win in a fight.

When Yosuke mentioned he might not have enough money and tried to ask for credit, the tavern owner's initially friendly demeanor twisted with anger.

"If you don't have money, don't act all high and mighty! We don't do credit here, even adventurers have to pay for their meals!"

The tavern owner had initially been friendly, thinking Yosuke was a wealthy customer who would return. But realizing Yosuke was a penniless fraud, his attitude changed dramatically.

Grabbing Yosuke like a ragdoll, the tavern owner searched him and found all his money—just 27 copper coins.

Seeing the 27 coins, the tavern owner turned green with rage. He had assumed that even if Yosuke didn't have enough money, he would at least have most of it. But now, it was clear Yosuke had ordered a meal worth at least one gold coin with just a few copper coins.

In this world, one gold coin equaled 100,000 copper coins. Yosuke's 27 coins weren't even enough to cover a fraction of the cost.

Having the audacity to dine and dash naturally led to a beating. During the scuffle, Yosuke's homemade wooden mask fell off, revealing his "half-beast" face.

The tavern owner, already furious with Yosuke for attempting to dine and dash, became even angrier upon discovering he was a half-beast. In this world, mixed races like half-beasts were treated poorly, often viewed as no better than monsters.

Despite Yosuke's protests that he wasn't a half-beast, the tavern owner was unmoved. Just like Rex and his group, the tavern owner saw an opportunity.

"Kid, you can't blame me. Whether you're a half-beast or not, you have to pay for your meal. Since you don't have money, I'll have to sell you to the slave traders. A talking half-beast is rare; selling you should cover the cost."

Yosuke's protests fell on deaf ears, and he was sold to the slave traders. Though a talking half-beast was rare, the traders only offered three copper coins for Yosuke.
