Joshua bolted out of the venue and into the last service car of the night.

He hurriedly asked the driver to take him back to the Chu mansion, muttering curses under his breath—curses meant for his cousins and their manipulative decisions.

Despite years of enduring harassment and mistreatment from the family he had sworn to protect and serve, Joshua had never backed down from a mission.

But catching a glimpse of what was happening behind the closed doors of that giant mansion had torn him away from his mission.

Groaning, he slumped in the backseat, lost in thought until the driver looked at him through the rearview mirror, a fond smile on his lips as he broke the silence.

"Having trouble with your mission, little brother?"

Joshua snapped his gaze to the rearview mirror, his eyes widened in shock as he stared at those eyes that looked like they were staring back at him.

"Jasper? What the fuck are you doing here?"
