"Are you sure that you want to do this, Audrey?" I asked, looking at my mate, knowing that she was still worried about her brother meeting her at the library.

The man appearing there told me that he had his men following us, though where they were I did not know. And the idea of Audrey's mother wanting to see her was not one that I liked. I knew that it was not one that she liked either. "You don't need to go to the library today if you're not ready. Things can be tended to tomorrow."

"I want to go, Vladimir. I know if I don't, he is going to think that he got what he wanted. I don't want you to think that I'm running away or that I'm hiding. I will go to work as I have planned and whatever mother wants we can find out later. For now, I don't intend to think of it." She was trying to hide her fear, could read it in her eyes, and I knew that she was thinking about it.
