Edmund couldn't deny the fact that he had expected this, yet he still felt disappointed and annoyed that Ronald had beaten him to it. He did his best to calm himself down, but it all amounted to nothing. He was seething inside, but he knew acting out of line would only draw attention towards him. Being hooded in the middle of the night was already making heads turn twice, acting out would only worsen his dilemma.
He took in deep breaths before turning towards the exit, there was nothing left for him here, and staying in a place full of people just meant putting his life in more danger.
