"Little human...hm?" The demoness swirled Layla around in the air. "Makes a tasty snack, eh?"
"Bring her down right now!" Iva tried to take a step forward, but the demoness gave her a warning grin, one that said, Dare to move and lose the girl.
Iva paused, clenching her jaw tightly. "Put. Her. Down."
"That's not how you talk to your superior," the demoness scowled, eyeing the young vampiress ready to pounce on her any minute.
Iva looked down, trying to control her anger but, at the same time, wanting to show the demoness that holding the girl wasn't the wisest decision.
"You can't hurt a child," Herschel intervened. "Please put her down."
The demoness nodded slowly as she started putting Layla down, then she chuckled. "You see, that's the difference between demons and humans. Child or not...as long as it makes a good meal, I don't care who gets hurt."
