Resting his back with his two hands, Kael's eyes continued to follow Jacquelyn's movements. He watched her play around in the royal garden, greeting most of the maids as she tried to familiarize herself with them. Whenever he heard her voice, it felt like a gentle breeze on a hot night, the only safe haven that calmed his soul. And when she smiled, Kael found himself smiling along without realizing it.

Even though he tried to stay away from the girl, once he heard her voice, like a siren calling in the dense woods, Kael found himself looking for her. Slowly, she was eroding his soul with her presence. He couldn't get rid of her physically, and it was even worse mentally. He had the urge to be around her all the time, to keep his eyes on her.
