章 87: Chapter 87 : Chunin Exam Finals 5
The atmosphere in the Chunin Exam finals was tense. The crowd was filled with anticipation as both Shika and Gaara were covered in the mist, and its been some time without any outcome.
Shika knew that Gaara was dangerous, especially with the Shukaku, inside him. The sand armour that always surrounded Gaara was impenetrable to most attacks and Shika knew that well, that is why he trained hard and perfected the techniques that would give him an advantage.
Water Convergence. It was a technique he had spent months perfecting, a sharp, piercing stream of water capable of breaking through even the toughest defences.
With precision and speed, Shika launched the attack. The water converged into a thin, needle-like shape and shot forward, cutting through Gaara's sand shield like paper. The sharp scream pierced through Gaara's defence and struck him directly in the chest.
Gaara's eyes widened in shock, but before he could react, Shika was already moving forward. The barrier he erected didn't only stop any chakra from leaking out but also sounds so that Gaara wouldn't scream and make both his siblings make their way down here to save him.
He knew he didn't have much time. Using the sealing technique he had learned from Jiraiya, he pressed his hands against Gaara's body when he was down and his sand was held back by Shika's water and activated the seal. The complex symbols glowed as they locked onto the Biju's chakra inside Gaara, sealing it off and preventing Shukaku from awakening.
The crowd still couldn't see anything through the thick mist. It wasn't until Shika deactivated his Hidden Mist Technique that the arena came back into view. Gaara was kneeling on the ground, clutching his chest, clearly weakened, and Shika stood before him so victorious that they realised that the fight was already over.
"That's…" Kakashi Guy and Lee who saw this can't help but question what they were seeing, even Lee failed against Gaara after opening 5 of the inner gates, but here was Shika who not only won against Gaara but even wounded him. They all could see the blood pouring out of Gaara's shoulder.
Lee can't help but clench his fist at this.
"Lee…" Guy grabs Lee's shoulder trying to say something but no words come to his mouth.
Lee wasn't the only one surprised, there were others, like the Sand team. Who saw this and frowned, already rushing towards Gaara. But maybe not more than Orochimaru who was sitting beside Hiruzen and after seeing that Gaara wasn't transforming into his Biju nor he was healing, he was both stunned and angry.
He quickly made a hand sign and Kabuto and his other men waiting started their plan.
White feathers fell from the sky and a large area of Genjutsu was activated, making the majority of the people fall to sleep.
The stands filled with snoring rather than screaming, making Shika smile, the irony was really there, as enemy shinobi from the Hidden Sound and Hidden Sand villages appeared. Shuriken and kunai flew through the air, and smoke bombs filled the arena. Konoha's forces rushed to defend the village, but the surprise attack caught many off guard.
This wasn't just happening in the Chunin exam stand, the entire village was under attack by Orochmiaru's forces by now. Shika also noticed that Orochimaru also erected a barrier with his sound four to kill Hiruzen Sarutobi.
'Hope that everything goes like the cannon, as long as Hiruzen is dead, it's okay.' Shika hoped, though he knew that his being here would change things, he honestly didn't care but about the changes but Hiruzen should die, and that why he put a clone inside that's barrier even before this all started, to make sure things goes on like the cannon.
Shika immediately snapped into action. He didn't have time to rest after his fight with Gaara. The village was under attack, and he needed to help. As he glanced at Gaara, he saw him struggling to stand, but the sealing technique was still holding back the full power of the Shukaku.
Up in the stands, Shika spotted familiar faces. The other Genin from Konoha were already moving to assist in the battle. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were all engaged with enemy shinobi, while Kakashi and the other Jonin were fighting Orochimaru's elite forces.
'Now let's finally get that spy bastard.' Shika had a smirk on his face. He of course was talking about Kabuto.
Orochimaru and Kabuto are the only people who know how to use Edo Tensei, right now he has no way to kill Orochimaru but he can get that bastard Kabuto.
Hell, he in fact might be able to get Orochimaru as well, but that depends on his clone.
After all, if there was one time when Orochimaru has ever come close enough to dying then it was when Hiruzen used the ripper death seal on him.
'Hope the clone can find a way to take both of them out.' he can't help but hope. And then he was gone, ready to find Kabuto and stop the zombie army from ever marching the elemental nation.
Shika's divine dogs already knew Kabuto's scent, so finding him wasn't hard.
"Summoning Jutsu..." Shika said, more like acted and sneakily took out a smoke bomb while biting his finger to draw blood and slam his hand on the ground to act like he used the summoning jutsu to summon his divine dogs.
A buff of smoke happened in the area and two dogs, one black and one white came forward.
"Find him..." Shika only said this and the next second they bolted out to find Kabuto.

At this time, the clone, who was hiding in the shadows up on the rooftop, inside the barrier erected by the sound four, was hiding in his shadows and watching both teacher and student tearing each other part.
They didn't fight too much, only a little to see how strong they were before Orochimaru used the Edo Tensei to bring both of the Senju Brothers.
Clone just remained back, he knew that he couldn't stop anyone with his powers inside this barrier, though he was surprised how Hiruzen Sarutobi looked surprised seeing the Kazekage turned out to be Orochimaru. This means that he was expecting an attack from Orochimaru after Shika found the real plan of Sand by saving Hayate.
Clone can't help was ponder what Hiruzen was thinking.
'Probably that there will be two kage-level shinobi in the fight, Orochimaru and Kazekage, so even if he wanted to take some help from Jiraiya, he couldn't. At best he must have thought that he had to fight Kazekage who was of course weaker than Orochimaru while Jiraiya would handle the snake. That's why Jiraiya is not here beside Hiruzen, he must have been look for Orochimaru to fight.
Tsk, tsk, tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk....' Clone snickered.
This was good for him, this means that the final outcome might not change ultimately.

章 88: Chapter 88 : Chunin Exam Finals 6
Amid the chaos of the Konoha Crush, Shika raced as he surveyed the battlefield. Orochimaru's forces were everywhere, and he knew that someone dangerous like Kabuto was likely lurking in the shadows or fighting someone strong.
A thought came to his mind, how strong was Kabuto in early Naruto? They say that he is equal to Kakashi but he doubts it, but that doesn't mean that he would be on just a Chunin level.
Shame honestly, otherwise, he definitely would have gone after Kabuto right off the bat, his talent is really good, and that would have been the best.
It wasn't long before they picked up the trail. Shika followed them through all the fighting happening in his surroundings, his eyes sharp as he anticipated someone attack him suddenly, he was on his guard.
"Kabuto!" Shika called out, stepping forward with confidence.
Kabuto turned to face him, a smirk on his face. "Ah, Shika Kun, what a coincidence to meet you here like this. I didn't expect you to be this strong, you beat Uchiha Sasuke and even were able to run away from Mr Orochimaru's pursuit, I have to say that when you joined our team, I wasn't expecting that you were capable of something like that. But do you really think you can take me down?" Kabuto replied as he kicked the person he was fighting with right away. He was strong, Shika could tell that though he might be not as good as Kakashi he was strong.
'I gotta get him by surprise, there is no way... I can fight head-on with Shikigami's but that will take too much time.' Shika knew this and got ready.
Shika didn't waste time with words. He quickly formed hand seals "Let's see how you handle this." And just as he completed saying this a Shadow clone appeared with a buff of smoke. At the same time, he commanded the dogs.
Without hesitation, his divine dogs lunged at Kabuto. Shadow went for Kabuto's legs while Snow aimed for his throat. Kabuto dodged swiftly, avoiding their attacks with ease. But Shika wasn't done yet—using his Shadow Possession Jutsu, he extended his shadow toward Kabuto, hoping to lock him in place.
Kabuto, however, was no amateur. He leapt into the air, narrowly avoiding Shika's shadow. "You're not fast enough Shika Kun," Kabuto taunted, landing lightly on his feet.
However, that was the same time when the clone Shika appeared near Kabuto and confronted him with close combat fighting.
But to Shika's disbelief, Kabuto was able to quickly overwhelm the clone in just under a few seconds and using his medical jutsu he quickly popped the clone.
Shika cursed under his breath. He knew that he wasn't a match for Kabuto, at least he needed his Sharingan which now he could control pretty well, to hold Kabuto's much superior skills, but he couldn't do that, opening Sharingan here in the open in front of everyone was dangerous. He wasn't afraid of these people, but Danzo. That was why he had his divine dogs.
"Charge," Shika shouted. Shadow and Snow rush out immediately.
But before those dogs come near Kabuto vanishes from his place, instincts kick in and Shika spun around just in time to block a kunai aimed at his back. Kabuto appeared out of thin air, his face calm as he delivered a rapid series of strikes aimed at Shika's vital points. Shika was quick on his feet, but Kabuto's medical ninja skills were sharp. Each strike was precise and deadly.
'Damn, he surely is skilled.' Shika all but cursed seeing how Kabuto was overwhelming him.
He knew that he needed a little more help here. Forming a hand sign, he quickly slams his hand on the ground and the next second a hoard of rabbits appears out of a big buff of smoke.
"Distract, and hinder his movements," Shika said and those Rabbits rushed at Kabuto.
Kabuto seeing this looked a little surprised, he really had no idea that Shika had a summoning contract, let alone 2.
Shika summoned water from a nearby broken pipe, forming it into a wave that he sent crashing toward Kabuto. Kabuto dodged with ease, but that was what Shika expected. The water was a distraction. Shadow and Snow lunged at Kabuto from the side and this time they connected. Shadow bit down hard on Kabuto's leg, while Snow grabbed his arm.
Kabuto didn't even see the dogs coming thanks to all those rabbits covering his sight.
They weren't the only shinobi fighting there, and others also noticed a hoard of Rabbits rampaging around. Though they didn't do any damage besides biting which was nothing for a shinobi, they were annoying and really good at concealing attacks from both Shika and his dogs.
Kabuto winced but didn't falter. With a burst of chakra, he threw the dogs off, sending them skidding across the ground. "Annoying pests," Kabuto muttered, wiping the blood from his arm.
"Since when you have these two summons." Suddenly a familiar voice rang in Shika's ear and he knew who this was.
"A long time, though I didn't use it in preliminary as the exam was to test the individual's strength." Shika quickly glanced at Sasuke who appeared beside him and answered, he knew what exactly he was trying to ask.
Sasuke didn't reply after that but Shika knew what he might be thinking. Not using Sharingan which he thinks Shika had back then or this Summon beast. He might think that he was looking down on him.
"I heard you have gotten stronger... I look forward to seeing your improvement." Shika only said this as he again rushed at Kabuto.
"Hn, you'll see." Sasuke just sneer at Shika still hiding his Sharingan and rushes at Kabuto.
He knew by instinct that Shika wouldn't have summon his beast if the opponent wasn't strong, he wanted to see just how strong Kabuto really was.
He also knew that Kabuto wanted to attack him when he was unconscious so this was a little personal as well.

The clone was watching the fight keenly, Hiruzen right now was fighting with both the first and second Hokage while Orochimaru himself was standing beside and waiting.
The clone wasn't sure whether they could sense him, he first thought that it's possible for a sensor but that wasn't the case.
Karin who right now was staying in Konoha in the pretext of seeing the Chunin exam was proof.
Her Mind Eye of Kayuga, arguably on par with Byakugan, couldn't sense him while he was inside shadows.
This means that normal people, even kage level who don't have any sensor ability shouldn't be able to sense him.
And so far, they haven't.
"This sure got potential." Clone had a little smirk appearing on his face.
