章 12: Chapter 12: How come you are here?
Qi Jincheng snapped back to reality and abruptly let go of Su Yin.
Qi Jincheng was somewhat irritated, "Why did you come here?"
He hadn't expected Su Beibei to actually find this place.
Su Yin straightened her clothes, looking coldly at Qi Jincheng with a flash of sarcasm in her eyes.
Beibei.
Su Yin.
From the way they addressed each other, one could tell who was closer and who was more distant.
Su Beibei forced a smile, "I... I just thought that it's been a while since you came back, Jincheng, so I came to see you. I didn't expect to disturb you; I am sorry..."
Su Yin scoffed coldly, and Qi Jincheng's expression darkened, "What disturbance?"
The sarcasm in Su Yin's eyes intensified. No disturbance, indeed—wasn't she the one disturbing them? How was it Su Beibei who disturbed him and her?
Su Beibei forced a laugh, her gaze shifting towards Su Yin.
"Yinyin, why didn't you tell me earlier that you and Jincheng had reconciled? I've always been afraid you two might get a divorce, but it seems I was overthinking. I've said it before; it was all just a misunderstanding between you two."
Su Yin approached her, her eyes sharp as swords, ready to easily shatter Su Beibei's pretense and expose all the vile aspects of her heart.
Su Yin curled her lips mockingly, looking at the veins popping on Su Beibei's hand because she was clenching her fists so tightly, and said coolly, "Really, are you that happy for me? Why do I feel like you are filled with resentment?"
Su Beibei's eyes trembled, and she frowned, "Yinyin, why do you always misunderstand me? I've always tried to ease the tension between you and Jincheng."
"Trying to ease the tension, or pouring fuel on the fire, you know very well yourself."
"Su Yin!" Qi Jincheng's face turned sinister.
Su Yin looked disdainful, glanced at Qi Jincheng, then coldly smirked at Su Beibei, "Your little white lotus act can deceive others, but it can't deceive me."
What Su Beibei claimed as easing the tension was nothing but her repeatedly emphasizing Jincheng's special treatment towards her in front of her.
She provoked her into madness, into arguing with Qi Jincheng, while Su Beibei would appear in her little white lotus guise, making Qi Jincheng pity her.
Having lived once again, Su Yin had seen through all of Su Beibei's little schemes.
Su Beibei covered her heart, stepping back, her eyes filled with tears as she choked out, "Yinyin, are you upset because I returned to the Su Family, and that's why you are bullying me? But those things were originally mine; I was merely taking back what belonged to me. Am I wrong?"
"Enough!"
Qi Jincheng strode over, supporting the staggering Su Beibei, and angrily said to Su Yin, "Su Yin, can't you stop provoking Beibei? She just got out of the hospital. Don't you have any conscience?"
Su Beibei leaned on his shoulder, gently shaking her head, tears falling onto his sleeve.
The sarcasm in Su Yin's eyes was clear, she was about to speak when Su Beibei quickly grabbed Qi Jincheng's sleeve, sobbing, "It's okay, Jincheng. I just wanted to make up with Yinyin. Ever since I was little, I've always hoped for a sister."
Su Beibei cried sensibly and in a pitiful manner, maximizing Qi Jincheng's sympathy.
He hugged Su Beibei's shoulder, speaking softly and gently, "Beibei, you are just too kind. Your kindness and sensibility should be given to those who deserve it."
Su Beibei, with tears in her eyes, looked conflicted at Su Yin before burying her head and crying silently.
Su Yin looked at the scene in front of her, filled with the tender consolation of a lover, and felt a stabbing pain in her heart.
Jincheng, holding Su Beibei tenderly and comforting her, had he ever thought about his legitimate wife standing right there, watching this ridiculous scene unfold?
Su Yin spoke out sarcastically, finally interrupting Su Beibei's performance, "Have the two of you had enough? Excuse me."
Qi Jincheng, furiously like an enraged lion, said, "Su Yin, Beibei is sincerely trying to mend your sisterly relationship, but what are you doing? You're disappointing."
The more fragily Su Beibei cried, the more cold and heartless Su Yin appeared, and Qi Jincheng clenched his fists.
This woman was wicked, her tactics numerous, showing absolutely no empathy.
She could have lived peacefully, and he would have continued to provide her with a wealthy life, but she persistently courted disaster.
She deserved this!
Su Yin snorted coldly, her eyes full of undisguised mockery, "Before you speak to me, could you please take your hands off Su Beibei? As you said, we're not yet divorced. Are you treating me as if I'm dead? Flirting with Su Beibei here? Should I bring a bed over for you two?"
Qi Jincheng's eyes turned profoundly stern as he shouted, "Su Yin!"
Su Yin, clearly impatient, retorted harshly, "Shout for what? Did I strike a nerve?"
Blurred by tears, Su Beibei began to speak, but got interrupted by Su Yin after barely uttering a word.
"Don't call me that; we're not close enough for it. Besides, I'm allergic to green tea, stay away from me."
Su Yin glanced coldly at Qi Jincheng and Su Beibei, feeling increasingly disgusted. Her originally good mood had been completely wrecked by these two.
Su Beibei suppressed her rising smile, leveraging her previous posture to move a bit closer into Qi Jincheng's embrace, looking up at him with what she believed to be the most pitiful expression.
"Jincheng, should I have not shown up here? Just when your relationship with Yinyin was starting to improve, it has worsened because of me. But I really did intend to help you reconcile, and Yinyin, you misunderstood me."
Su Yin scoffed coldly and paid them no more mind, quickly leaving the place.
Qi Jincheng watched her go, offering a patronizing remark, "Don't overthink it, just go back."
With that said, he released Su Beibei and walked away.
If only he had looked back, he would have seen the undeniable hatred on Su Beibei's face, starkly contrasting her usual obedient demeanor.
Su Beibei's face twisted, her eyes filled with a fierceness like that of a vengeful ghost freshly emerged from Hell.
Su Yin, I will definitely force you out for good! You've occupied what's mine for so many years and still dare to treat me like this! I'll make your life a living hell!
