"Alex why didn't you tell us about this" David said as he paced back and forth in the room.
"Alex I really want to go home now" Alexa said. The frustration could be heard in her voice "I'm really tired of staying in your head"
'Just give me a minute, I promise I'll end this soon. And why are you tired of staying in my head? Is it really that bad?'
"It's dark in here, all I can see is the system's HUD, the things you see and myself"
'Ok, just give me a minute'
"Alex are you listening to me" David said and jolted him out of his thoughts.
"Yes dad I heard you"
"So answer me, why did you keep this from us?"
"Dad look I would really love to talk right now but I have something really important to do. I have to go, we'll talk about this at dinner"
"Alex..."
Alex was out of the room before David could say more, leaving the family silent.
"What's so important that made him walk out on me?" Davis asked.
"Apparently, he has a date with Alexa" Alice said. "Ugh I hate that girl" She added.
"You know you can't be with Alex forever" Sherry said.
"But why does she have to steal all the attention?"
Alex ran as fast as he could and when he got to an empty road he stopped.
"We're alone, we can split up now"
"I know that"
Mana pulsed from Alex's body and it drifted to his left and formed Alexa.
"Oh my God, fresh air at last" Alexa said.
"Come on Alexa, let's get you home"
"No I'm not going home yet. My dad said to protect me, not boss me around"
"Why are you so edgy lately"
"I'm going to Chloe's house"
"Wait, how can I protect you if I'm not with you?"
"I don't need protecting all the time. See you tomorrow"
"Did I do something wrong?"
"No, bye"
"Do you need me to walk you?"
"No I'm fine by myself "
" Then let me make sure of that at least". Alex pointed his hand and transferred his Aegis Wall to Alexa and she felt it covering her.
"How is that skill still active?"
"Your dad was right, anything from the system that directly affects my body will stay active even when the system is offline. Power for protection"
"Then why are you giving it to me?"
"Why? It's to make sure you're safe"
"I don't want it take it back"
"But why are you being like this today? What's wrong?"
"I want you to take things more seriously, that's what"
"Take things seriously? I am taking things seriously"
"No you are not. You almost died today, do you know that?"

"You were acting like the protagonist of a story and almost got yourself killed. My abilities may be able to make you strong but everything has limits and I want you to understand that"
