### Chapter 17: The First Lower Moon
The rays of the setting sun cast a golden hue over the wooden house, bathing it in a serene, warm light. The First Lower Moon, Ryuutaro, lay on a plush red couch, waiting for the sunlight to completely fade so he could begin his hunt. His appearance was almost human-like, with pale skin and striking blue eyes, the left one marked with the kanji for "First Lower Moon." His short black hair framed a perpetually smiling face, and he wore loose-fitting blue garments that matched the color of his eyes, exuding an aura of carefree mirth.
In the original timeline, this demon had met his end at the hands of the Stone Hashira, a battle that lasted only a minute and a half. The fact that Ryuutaro managed to hold his ground against such a formidable opponent was a testament to his skill. However, as the Stone Hashira made his way to the village where their fated encounter was to take place, an unexpected event occurred.
Ryuutaro's peaceful evening was abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of the Infinity Castle's portal beneath him.
"Thud!"
The portal opened, and Ryuutaro, along with his couch, was swallowed by the infinite labyrinth. As he fell, his black hair swayed with the motion, a look of concern crossing his face. 'The Infinity Castle? Does that mean Muzan-sama wants to see me? Why?' he pondered, anxiety creeping into his thoughts.
The rooms of the castle were bathed in the glow of yellow, purple, and golden lights, flashing past Ryuutaro's blue eyes as he descended. The brilliance of these lights contrasted starkly with the grim uncertainty he felt.
*Crash!*
Ryuutaro landed heavily on a wooden floor, his feet slamming down with a force that echoed through the vast expanse of the castle. As he lifted his head, he saw a maze of inverted rooms and endless corridors. Suddenly, a hand rested on his shoulder from behind.
"Ryuutaro, it is time to prove whether you deserve the rank bestowed upon you."
Ryuutaro's body trembled at the familiar voice. It was a voice he could never forget—the voice of Kibutsuji Muzan. He was certain the spot he landed in had been empty, yet Muzan had approached him without him noticing.
Sweat trickled down Ryuutaro's forehead as he maintained his smile, looking straight ahead. "Muzan-sama... It is an honor to have your trust once again. What is required of me?" he asked, his voice steady despite the inner turmoil.
Muzan's red eyes, glowing with a hint of pink, stared intensely at Ryuutaro. "A boy wielding a colorless Nichirin sword. He wears a purple robe, has black hair, and purple eyes. When he enters serious combat, you will notice his eyes and some strands of his hair glow with a purple hue, despite his hair appearing completely black."
Ryuutaro awaited Muzan's clarification, wondering if this boy was a Hashira. Muzan continued, "He has only started using the sword last week. He will pose no real threat to you. Kill him and dispose of his body; I have no need for his head."
Relief washed over Ryuutaro, his eyes relaxing as the anxiety dissipated. Realizing that Muzan was not sending him after a Hashira, he felt a surge of confidence. Muzan, sensing this through his blood cells, chose to ignore it and added, "Ryuutaro, you must not fail this mission. Your target is heading to Saita Village in the far west. Find him and eliminate him quickly."
*Thud!*
Before Ryuutaro could respond, the portal beneath him reopened, dropping him back into the wooden house where he had been. As he adjusted to his surroundings, the portal above reopened, and his red couch fell on top of him. From underneath, he muttered, "Thank you for your attention to detail."
Pushing the couch aside, Ryuutaro stood up and whispered to himself, "Saita... A village in the far west... It's quite a distance."
Far away, on a rural path flanked by fields of crops on either side, the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, ran with a steady gaze. He glanced sideways at Kintaro, who was running beside him, thinking, 'What does this mean exactly? I pushed his body to its limits during this morning's training, yet he's still able to keep up with my pace for five straight hours. Kintaro, it can't be just talent... If it is, you'll definitely stand among the Hashira soon.'
Beside the Mist Hashira, Kintaro ran just a step behind, his black hair and purple robe billowing in the wind. His thoughts, however, were more peculiar. 'The Mist Hashira has become slow. Could it be that he's tired? For the past five hours, I've been waiting for him to increase his speed. This isn't even a warm-up for me. I want to run faster, like electric sparks...'
The orange hue of the sunset covered the entire sky, adding beauty to the clouds. After all that running, they finally reached their destination—Kyotana Village.
